Reggie Miller: There's a Jordan & he and the Bulls who set the standard for success to win consecutive championships

Live Bar February 14 News Today, NBA star Reggie Miller participated in an online interview program on NBA TV. In the interview, the long-term impact of Jordan and the Bulls on the "post-Jordan era" and the changes that have taken place in the league (after Jordan's retirement) are discussed.

"What's changed? I think, listen, it's a little unfair, (from then on) everyone is talking about who's going to be the second 'Michael Jordan, and people have mentioned Grant,' Kobe Bryant, LeBron James. It's a little unfair to these players [compared to Jordan], who are also incredible players with unique basketball talent, but there's only one Michael Jordan in the world. "We [the Pacers] did everything we could to limit Jordan, but he had a lot of lethal [scoring] tricks, and he had Pippen assists, Phil Jackson coaching, and other helpers like Kerr." ”

Miller continued: "I don't know exactly how much the league has changed [after the Jordan era], but I know that the impact the Chicago Bulls had on the Lakers, who had Kobe Bryant and O'Neal at the time, was one of the reasons the Lakers won three consecutive championships. Jordan and the Bulls define what success is for a (post-Jordanian) team: If you want to be successful, you have to win consecutive championships. And those guys won six championships with two consecutive triples. We also saw later that the Lakers won a triple crown in the early 2000s, and the Spurs also (won multiple championships) (note: the Spurs are not consecutive championships). They set the standard for success. ”

Reggie Miller led the Pacers in seven games against Jordan's Bulls in the 1998 Eastern Conference Finals, but lost 3-4. The Bulls eventually won that year's NBA championship, completing their second triple title.
