Hearthstone designer Cora: The core series and next year's first expansion will encourage scene-based gameplay even more

Hearthstone Designer Cora: Seeing some of the comments about the cards in the new mini series, which basically boil down to the theme of "these cards can't beat OTK", I'm here to share my thoughts.

Over the past few months, we have done our best to reduce the intensity and performance of combo/OTK in the environment.

It makes perfect sense to measure the strength of each new card with "ability to beat the mission", but the situation will continue to change.

With the core series rotation and the release of the first expansion pack for the new Hearthstone year, I think you'll see our efforts to encourage scene-based gaming. I've always kept this in mind when designing cards for the upcoming year.

Basically, we always want to have as much diversity as possible during each standard year cycle. This year's combo/OTK is more active and strong, so we will continue to create other decks and balance the environment so that other builds have a chance to shine as well.

Many of the new cards in the Mini Series are designed with an eye to the future, not just to enter existing structures. Of course, some are definitely suitable for the current deck, but we always think about it ahead of time.

All in all, I'm thrilled with what we're doing so far for this year, and I think you too. Hope you enjoy the mini pack of new cards revealed!
