Whether Vallieva can continue to compete will be known at 2 p.m. today

This morning, the International Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) announced that they have completed hearings on the arbitration proceedings against Russian figure skater Camilla Vallieva, and the results will be officially released at 2 p.m.

The hearing took place last night and lasted nearly six hours, ending at about 2:00 a.m. Beijing time on February 14. Representatives from the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), the International Skating Union (ISU), the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA), the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), and Vallieva herself attended the hearing.

A doping sample test conducted by Vallieva on 25 December 2021 was positive for trimetazil. The test results were presented by the Anti-Doping Laboratory in Stockholm on February 8. The Russian anti-doping agency imposed a temporary ban on Vallieva, but lifted the ban after the athlete appealed on Feb. 9.
