Since 2016, Finnish artist Pasi Widgren has been creating Ephemeral Art in winter, and this year is no exception, following the previous years, he painted portraits of bears and owls on the surface of the snowy lake, and this year he used his footsteps and a shovel to create a 295-foot (about 90 meters) long fox on the frozen lake of Lahti, although as the weather changes, his work will slowly disappear, destined to carry the regret of a period of regret, But it didn't stop his desire to create at all!
Pasi Widgren says the idea popped up a few years ago, when he discovered that he had a special ability to coordinate and "paint as he walked" to start his snow creation journey. At the beginning of this month, he took a portrait of a fox to Lake Pitkajarvi, where he first walked and pondered the outline of the fox, and when the outline was completed, he used a snow shovel to "paint" the other parts, and the whole work took about four hours to complete. Of course, before he started moving his "feet", he first tested the thickness of the ice on the surface of the lake, determined that the ice was at least four inches (about 10 centimeters) and could walk safely, and he also brought an ice pick just in case.
When it was all over, he took a bottle of coffee to sit down at the top of a nearby hill and look down at his work, and although a few days later, as the snow fell, the fox would drown in the snow, but he didn't mind at all. "It's also important for me to create this kind of art that doesn't leave a trace on nature, and I hope to be able to encourage people to go into the beautiful nature." Widgren said.
