Gao Tingyu is China's "speed skating brother", born on December 15, 1997 in Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province, began to skate at the age of 8, won the "Thirteen Winters" speed skating championship at the age of 19 and then was selected for the national team. In 2018, he won the bronze medal in the men's 500 meters of speed skating at the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics with a time of 34.65 seconds, achieving a breakthrough of zero medals for Chinese men's men's speed skaters at the Winter Olympics.
