Whose fault was Kevin De Bruyne's departure?

Jose Mourinho asked him not to make a "mistake" in allowing Kevin De Bruyne to avoid Chelsea because his hands are a choice.

De Bruyne moved from Chelsea to Wolfsburg in 2014 for £18 million and has since stood out among other midfielders in world football.

The Manchester City star, who won the Premier League's PFA Player of the Year award in his second progressive season of the season, is currently competing in Belgium for Euro 2020.

Chelsea regret his take-off, but Mourinho claims he needs him to stay at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Mourinho said: "He intrigued me, I made the choice, I don't need to borrow this kid, I need him to stay and in the first game of our Premier League season he started playing against Hull City. ” .

"In the second game we arrived at Old Trafford and after that he came up to me and said, 'I need to play every game, I need to play every moment'. He was very concerned about that.

"He needed to leave, he needed to go to Germany, where he was happy to have been borrowed beforehand, and his choice was to go. He's very focused on that and it works well for him.

"The story is there, the player's nature is complete, he's in the top five on the planet."

Mourinho added that De Bruyne was not ready to stay for his chances or to insist on his possibility at Stamford Bridge.

"When he was supposed to leave, I decided to let him stay and I saw those traits. He doesn't have the experience and development he has now, but his feet and vision are at that point," he continued.

"He was very clear about what he needed, he wasn't ready to spend that season at Chelsea, there were a lot of good players in a similar group and he didn't have the perseverance.

"He wasn't ready for that, he was from Germany for a season where he played the whole game.

"Our mentors sometimes make mistakes, but that's not the case. I saw that he could do it, but he was perfectly aware of what he needed. ”
