The reporter learned from the police in Nanning, Guangxi, that recently, the Hengxian Public Security Bureau cracked a serial murder case and arrested the suspect who had been on the run for 17 years.
At 7 p.m. on February 14, 2003, the Yunbiao Police Station of the Hengxian Public Security Bureau received a report from villagers that a body had been found in a ditch at the mouth of Pengtang Village, Futang Village Committee, Yunbiao Town. After receiving the alarm, the police immediately sent the police to the scene. After identification, the deceased was Huang Mou, a 42-year-old man in the village, who was injured and killed by a blunt object. The police learned that Huang Mou was in the business of selling pork in several nearby villages, with a considerable income, and there was a wife, two sons and a daughter in the family, and there was no contradiction with the villagers.
The case was so serious that the Yunbiao police station immediately transferred the murder case to the criminal investigation brigade of the Hengxian Public Security Bureau for handling. After receiving the case situation, the police handling the case immediately analyzed the case and clarified the investigation direction of the key investigation focusing on the residents and passers-by within a few kilometers of the crime scene as the center.
After a large number of visits and investigations, the police grasped an important clue: according to the memories of the shuttle bus driver who passed near the scene of the crime, two people with foreign accents got off the bus at the village entrance on the afternoon of the crime, which was about the same time as the police speculated about the time of the crime. These two outsiders are suspected of committing major crimes. The police investigation learned that the motorcycle that the deceased Huang Mou usually rode to sell pork disappeared without a trace after the incident. In order to solve the case as soon as possible, the police quickly concentrated on searching for the whereabouts of Huang's motorcycle, and at the same time, according to the characteristics of the shuttle bus driver of the two outsiders, many parties visited and investigated to find the traces of the two people.
After several days of investigation, the police found the motorcycle involved in the case in the deep mountains of Longxiang, Hengxian Town. When visiting nearby villagers, the police learned that on the night of the crime, a foreigner had asked the villagers for directions in the mountains. Kezhenlongxiang Dasheng Mountain is located in Hengxian and Binyang, Guigang and other places border, stretching for hundreds of miles, to find clues in the mountains is not easy to talk about. Just when the case reached an impasse, another homicide occurred in Longxiang, Hengxian Town.
About a month after the police found the motorcycle, there was another mass report that a body was found in Zhenlongshan, and the police rushed to the scene to find that the body was exposed in the wilderness, had been white-boned, and there was a red coat next to the body. The police investigation found that the deceased's facial skull collapsed injury, suspected to be violent death.
When the investigators visited the case in Yunbiao Town, some people reported that one of the suspects was not tall, about 1.5 meters, and another significant feature was wearing a red coat, and through the investigation feedback at the scene, the murder case in Zhenlong Township was very likely to be one of the criminal suspects in the Yunbiao Town murder case.
Due to the limited forensic technology of that year, it was always impossible to lock in another murder suspect. The mysteries in these two murder cases have become the regrets of the old generation of criminal police in Hengxian County, but at the same time, they have also become the driving force for the new generation of criminal police to strive to pursue the murderer.
In 2020, the Hengxian Public Security Bureau set up a homicide task force to follow up and investigate the murder case again. After massive scientific and technological data analysis and combined with today's mature forensic technology, the police finally grasped the important clues of the murder case 17 years ago: the fingerprints left by the murderer when riding the victim's motorcycle, and the personnel who were arrested by the police in Guigang for illegal acts in 2017. The police investigation found that Guan Moude was a native of Sanli Town, Qintang District, Guigang City, and worked in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province. After fully grasping the evidence of Guan Moude's crime, the special case team decided to go to Guangdong to arrest him.
On April 1 this year, the police rushed to Shenzhen to arrest Guan Moude, but they did not expect to pounce. The police went to Guigang City and finally arrested him at the home of a certain De in Sanli Town, Qintang District. After being arrested, the suspect closed his mind and truthfully confessed to the two murders he committed 17 years ago. According to Ao's confession, in 2003, he met a man who called himself Xiao He while working in Yulin, and the two decided to commit theft in order to seek money. Fearing being discovered by acquaintances in the local area, the two decided to take a shuttle bus to Hengxian to find the target and commit the theft.
On February 14, 2003, the two took a shuttle bus to Hengxian, intending to steal something from the car, but did not find an opportunity to do so. The two men went to Pengtang Village, the Futang Village Committee of Yunbiao Town, prepared wooden sticks and bamboo sticks, and planned to carry out robbery at the entrance of the village. When the victim Huang Mou came over on a motorcycle, the two of them rushed up, holding wooden sticks and bamboo sticks and hitting Huang Mou's head hard, knocking Huang down from the car, and the two continued to beat him with wooden sticks, causing Huang to die on the spot. Subsequently, Guan Moude snatched Huang Mou's motorcycle and escaped all the way to the Dasheng Mountain in Longxiang, Hengxian Town, riding Xiao He, and finally got lost in the mountain. During this time, the two quarreled and moved their hands. In the process of wrestling, after Guan Moude knocked Xiao He down with a wooden stick he had copied in his hand and injured himself, he left dashan alone and returned to his home in Guigang.
For 17 years, Guan Moude was afraid that he could not live forever, whether he was at home or working outside, the two lives on his hands made him unable to live in peace. It was not until the police of the criminal investigation brigade of the Hengxian Public Security Bureau found him that he was relieved and confessed the crimes committed that year. At present, Guan Moude has been arrested by the public security organs according to law, and the serial murder case of 17 years ago has finally come to an end.
