The developers of Trek in the Deep will be releasing a new title later this year

In October 2021, KRAFTON, the parent company of PUBG developers, acquired Unknown Worlds, the developer of the deep-sea survival game Deep Trek. Today (February 11), the studio's first project under the Krafton umbrella finally announced its progress. It is currently certain that this will not be another Deep Trek production.

The project, called "Project M," was mentioned in Krafton's fiscal 2021 financial report. The report says it's "a turn-based strategy game set in a sci-fi world" and will land on PC and mobile platforms. Unknown Worlds aims to release an Early Access version later this year and is pursuing a "'easy to learn, hard to master' formula... It's fun to watch other people play," presumably suggesting that the studio wants the game to borrow the live platform's promotional capabilities.

A conceptual art drawing of the new project "Project M" was also included in the financial report.

Krafton also said in the report that the Callisto Agreement, a game similar to Dead Space developed by Glen Schofield and Striking Distance Studios, is also expected to launch in the second half of 2022. In addition, Krafton and his various studios are also working on "Project Birmingham," an open-world PvP shooter that plans to launch a grab-and-come version in 2023; "Project FF," a character collection RPG, also scheduled for 2023; "Project Black Budget," a PvPvE collection shooter that has yet to release windows; and Project Windless", based on the Korean fantasy novel "The Bird of Tears", also does not have an exact release date.
