There is no conciliatory proclamation just opening Pandora's box

The "legislator" Huang Guoshu netizen incident was prolonged for many days, and many rumors of political surveillance were gradually "bottomed out" that year, and there were even more rumors in the DPP that there were people at a higher level than "legislators," and a political storm took shape. After the DPP "came to power", it promoted transitional justice, but it lacked the heart of "reconciliation" and only wanted to pursue the so-called "truth", just like opening Pandora's box, and it was more likely to be eaten by hatred in the end.

"Without the truth, there is no forgiveness." This is the core argument that promoting transitional justice must restore the truth of that year. The "Promotion of Transfers" released a large number of political archives of the White Terror Period, hoping that through the decryption and disclosure of the archives of that year, the parties or relevant people would understand the truth.

However, the purpose of promoting transitional justice is not only "truth", but more importantly, "forgiveness" after the truth is discovered. Those who say that "without the truth, there is no forgiveness", once they understand the truth, whether they can choose to forgive is the real test. From Huang Guoshu's admission that he was a netizen of the intelligence organs, the reaction of the DPP comrades can be seen that the person who really "forgives" from the bottom of his heart is Ji Xi.

"The truth is often very hurtful." If you want to comb through the political archives and restore the face of facts, you should be mentally prepared for this. In particular, when the truth is the betrayal of "one's own people", there must not be many people who can be freely forgiven, so how to make the political archives public must have a set of rigorous practices.

Taking Jiang Pengjian, the founding chairman of the Democratic Progressive Party, as an example, did he come from the Bureau of Investigation? Was there any surveillance outside the party? Everyone may have different cognitions because of differences in contact and memory, but it forms a debate of "netizens or not". Even if it is a political archive in black and white, it may not be done out of free will, and it can be said that "the truth must be obtained" in retrospect. This is also where transitional justice must be promoted with caution.

After the Huang Guoshu case triggered a political storm, Tsai Ing-wen said that "the real intention of transitional justice is not to liquidate, let alone struggle, but to let the mistakes committed by the authoritarian ruling organs be exposed", as the Kuomintang that ruled during the authoritarian period, there is no way to evade responsibility; but Taiwan has been lifting the strict for more than 30 years, and the lack of understanding is only "hunting and killing", and "returning to the pre-de-stricting overnight" is really the "transitional justice" we want?
