Located in The Town of Jiecheng, Dengfeng City, Henan Province, founded in the early Yuan Dynasty and presided over by astronomer Guo Shoujing, the Observatory is the oldest and well-protected observatory in China, which has high value in the history of world astronomy and architecture, and highlights the outstanding achievements of ancient scientists in astronomy on the mainland. In 2010, the Dengfeng "Heaven and Earth" historical building complex, including the Observatory, was listed as a World Cultural Heritage Site. Located in the northern part of mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, the Pyramid of Kukulcan is one of the most important sites of Mexico's mayan ancient civilization and is the pinnacle of its work. Kukulkan was hailed in Mayan culture as the embodiment of the sun, the sun god. In 1988, the ancient city of Chichen Itza, with the Pyramid of Kukulkan as its landmark, was inscribed as a World Heritage Site. The stamp picture is based on photographic works, the first figure "Observatory" is located in the center of the picture, with the symbol graphic representing "all directions", echoing the concept of "heaven and earth"; the composition of the second picture "Pyramid of Kukulkan" is unified with the first figure, and the background shows the symbol graphic representing the sun. The artistic presentation of the Observatory and the Pyramid of Kukulkan on the joint stamp issue is a dialogue spanning thousands of years with important cultural heritages of China and Mexico with a long history, so that the Chinese civilization and the Mayan civilization shine together in every inch.
