Because of the "jelly screen" problem of the iPad mini 6, Apple suffered a class action lawsuit

Colorado resident Christopher Bryan filed a class-action lawsuit against Apple on Wednesday, alleging Apple of fraudulently marketing and selling sixth-generation iPad minis, claiming the company was aware of the device's alleged "jelly screen" defects, according to court documents found by MacRumors.

In September, a few days after the release of the sixth-generation iPad mini, some users began to notice that the text looked slightly uneven when scrolled in portrait orientation on the device. Specifically, when scrolling through, the text on the left side of the screen seems to lag slightly behind the text on the right side of the screen.

The indictment filed in the Northern California District Court alleges that Apple was aware of the flaw but continued to sell the iPad mini without fixing the problem or modifying marketing materials to reflect the flaw.

According to Ars Technica, in late September, an Apple spokesperson said the effect was "normal behavior for LCD screens."

iFixit also said that this effect is common on displays, and it is speculated that since the control board of the display is installed vertically inside the device, rather than horizontally as in the fourth-generation iPad Air, this impact may be more prominent on the new iPad mini.
