Most of the cultivated land in Qinghai County, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is uneven saline land. Traditional irrigation methods are used locally, and agricultural yields are low. In this regard, PetroChina designed a support project that combines planting and breeding and covering a complete industrial chain: first, it invested 10.6 million yuan in 4 townships to build 5 demonstration drip irrigation projects, which greatly improved the utilization rate of water resources. With the large-scale spread of drip irrigation technology throughout the county, the land has been rotated and wheat, forage and cash crops can be alternately grown. This provides good conditions for the development of animal husbandry in agricultural areas.
On this basis, PetroChina invested 8 million yuan and 1.5 million yuan in Salto Haixiang to build two breeding cooperatives, using centralized breeding methods, respectively, to improve varieties and short-term fattening, accelerate the turnover of breeding capital, cultivate local industrial development platforms, and drive local farmers to increase income.
In the practice of promoting the upgrading of the whole industrial chain, PetroChina actively explores large enterprises to drive small enterprises and form a goose array model for industrial development.
