After a period of investigation and follow-up, on the night of September 2, 2021, the Jiajiang police arrested two of the suspects, Jiang Mou and Lu Mou. Subsequently, the suspect Li Mou was also arrested by the police in his hometown of Wang Yang Town, Renshou County, Meishan City. On September 15, the suspect Jia Moumou was arrested in Weiyuan's home, and the 5-person theft gang except Wang Mou was at large, and the remaining 4 people were all arrested.

Jiang Mou saw that the ternary catalyst was valuable on the Internet, and he wanted to make quick money, so he entangled two other truck drivers and people with experience in repairing cars to participate. The gang members are all post-90s, and the oldest Jiang mou is only 28 years old.
After interrogation, several criminal suspects confessed that they contacted the recipient of the stolen goods through short video channels and sold the stolen ternary catalyst.
On October 15, 2021, Jiajiang police arrested Hebei suspects Wang Moumou, Chen Mou and others in Xindu, who were all links in the chain of selling stolen goods.
