The owner of a bonsai flower shop said that every year during the Spring Festival, flower sales and prices will rise. "At present, Valentine's Day is approaching, flower sales continue to rise, and we are all in stock."

Roses and lilies are popular varieties of cut flowers. According to a merchant in the Dounan Flower Market, the price of roses fluctuated particularly significantly this year. Taking their family as an example, the price of 20 bouquets of roses a year ago is about 85 yuan, and the current price of the same bouquet is 120 yuan. Another merchant also said that the current price of A-grade roses is 130 yuan to 140 yuan per bunch, and the price of C-grade roses is about 100 yuan per bunch. "This year's rose prices are the highest in recent years, and the prices are higher than they were a few years ago."

A merchant in Shangyi Flower Market said that the price of 20 bouquets of roses in the store before the festival is about 90 yuan, and the price is about 100 yuan in recent days. In order to welcome Valentine's Day, March 8 Women's Day and other festivals, many florists have entered the state of stocking. A flower shop in Shangyi Flower Market also introduced varieties such as fake flowers and immortal flowers, which are easier to preserve and low in price than flowers.

Flower prices have risen, as have sales. Zhao Yongneng, general manager of Kunming Huayibao Technology Co., Ltd., introduced that the average daily sales of the company is 40,000 zha, the transaction volume is 1 million yuan, and the average daily sales volume of more than 100,000 zha in recent days, and the transaction volume exceeds 3 million yuan, all of which hit a record high in a single day. He said the rising prices of best-selling flower varieties have also raised the prices of the remaining varieties.

Zhao Yongneng believes that due to the impact of the epidemic, the planting plan of flower farmers has consciously moved backwards in the past two years, coupled with the rainy weather and low temperature in the winter of 2021, the flowering period this year has been delayed, which cannot meet the supply of the peak season of flower sales. In his view, due to the overall low volume of flowers on the market recently, the high price will continue until around March 8th Women's Day.
