"Hello, this is the French line of the Winter Olympic Multilingual Call Center." Jiao Miao, a volunteer with a headset, quickly picked up the phone, made a brief opening remark, and began to listen carefully to the other party's requirements, and then performed professional and fluent translations and solved problems for the other party - sometimes to help order food, sometimes to teach foreign friends how to connect to Wi-Fi; or to translate for medical staff, so that they could find out the physical condition of foreign athletes... The job is tedious and trivial, but it is a key part of breaking through the barriers of language communication.

Jiao Miao is an undergraduate student at Beijing Chinese University and an authentic Beijinger. Jiao Miao, 20, works as a French operator at the Winter Olympic Multilingual Call Center. Here, nearly 100 language service volunteers from Beijing Foreign Chinese University provide 24-hour language translation services online. At 6 p.m. on February 4, the countdown to the opening ceremony had entered, when Jiao Miao received an urgent request for help — a reporter interviewed a foreign friend who wanted to ask her to help translate the French spoken by the interviewee into Chinese, and the news had to be broadcast before the opening ceremony began. Jiao Miao held his breath and listened to it many times, and then went to ask the senior for help, and the translation of the two was completely correct, and then he assured that the translation results were handed over to the reporter. "It was really a translation of sweating nervousness."
As the rear of language services, Jiao Miao felt that he was extremely proud to be able to use what he had learned in his profession to provide more comprehensive and practical language services for the Winter Olympics. "Although I sat in the multilingual call center and could not see the Chinese and foreign personnel on the other side of the phone, my voice went along the telephone line to every corner of the Winter Olympics, warming everyone's hearts and contributing my own efforts to the success of the Winter Olympics, which is the meaning of my volunteer service."
