Internationalizing the cross-strait issue has been the consistent strategy of the "Taiwan independence" forces on the island for many years. However, facts have proved that without the one-China principle, the Taiwan authorities will not be able to achieve a breakthrough in international space. "Taiwan independence" elements are keen to play the "international card," but they cannot change the fact that "Taiwan independence" has no international market. In 2022, the DPP authorities' reliance on foreign conspiracies for "independence" will still end in embarrassment.
"Taiwan independence" is pro-US, but the United States is not pro-"Taiwan independence"
In the context of the Sino-US game, the frequency and intensity of the "Taiwan card" played by the United States have increased. Although these moves cannot change the general trend of the eventual reunification of the two sides of the strait, the DPP authorities and the "Taiwan independence" forces on the island are still happy to see the "lively and lively" atmosphere of confrontation between the United States and China. Through their control over the island's media and public opinion, they have long brainwashed the People of Taiwan and regarded the support of the United States and other external forces as the hope of "Taiwan independence." But the truth is far from that. "Taiwan independence" has never been the focus of the United States' attention, and ensuring US interests is the core of all its actions.
When the Leaders of China and the United States held a video meeting last November, US President Joe Biden clearly reiterated that the US government is committed to pursuing a long-term and consistent one-China policy, does not support "Taiwan independence," and hopes that peace and stability will remain in the Taiwan Strait. Prior to this, Qiu Yiren, who was once regarded by the DPP as the "number one military division," also bluntly said in an interview program that (the ruling authorities want to declare "Taiwan independence") "Don't say Chinese mainland will beat us, as far as I know, even the United States will oppose and disapprove."
Just as the United States supports the DPP authorities in disrupting the situation in the Taiwan Strait, the US side's rejection and opposition to "Taiwan independence" also stems from its own interest considerations. Declaring "Taiwan independence" means that the two sides of the strait are at war, and starting a war is equivalent to "helping" the mainland realize reunification in advance, which is a great harm to the existing interests of the US side. The DPP authorities' attempt to rely on the United States to seek "independence" will only facilitate the US side's continuous "sucking of blood" on Taiwan, but it will not be able to make "Taiwan independence" a fact, still less can it change its fate of being completely eliminated in the end.

In 2021, the DPP authorities borrowed the support of the US side and brushed a lot of presence in their interactions with Lithuania. But the cost of making these "big internal propaganda" is not only to let the People of Taiwan "digest" Lithuania's unsalable rum, milk, beer and other products at several times higher prices, but also to provide $1 billion in loan assistance to the cube. However, after investing heavily, the cube sent a large number of personnel to attend the Beijing Winter Olympics and discussed with the Taiwan side to change the name of the so-called "Taiwan Representative Office". Relying on money cannot buy "diplomatic relations" and cannot replace friendship, and the "golden dollar diplomacy" of the DPP authorities is an outright "unjust head" behavior.
In 2022, at the instigation of the US side, whether there will be a similar Lithuanian storm is worth paying attention to. However, against the background of the sustained growth of Chinese mainland comprehensive national strength and the increasingly resolute protection of core interests, the DPP authorities have simply not been able to make substantive progress in expanding the international space. Lithuania has already tasted bitter consequences due to the erroneous actions of some politicians involved in Taiwan, and has also become a "negative teaching material" of extremely warning significance. Anyone who dares to play "edge ball" in principle will eventually become a "fly that hits the wall", with a few miserable voices and a few sobs.
Compared with the so-called "diplomatic breakthrough" of the DPP authorities, the probability of its "breakthrough in diplomatic relations" in 2022 is higher. Vice Foreign Minister Le Yucheng once said that it is sooner or later that the "countries with diplomatic relations" in the Taiwan region will return to zero. Zhu Fenglian, spokeswoman for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, pointed out: I believe that the few remaining so-called "countries with diplomatic relations" in Taiwan will eventually have a clear understanding of the general situation and stand on the correct side of history.
There is only one China in the world, and Taiwan is part of China. The one-China principle is a universally recognized norm governing international relations and the universal consensus of the international community. China's reunification will not harm the legitimate interests of any country, including its economic interests in Taiwan, but will only bring more development opportunities to all countries.
