  On April 26, Sun Ao, who had just turned 70, bid farewell to his relatives and friends and the acting career he had loved all his life. A Communist Party member without any official position, an old actor who is not "popular" at the moment, and more than 400 people sent him off, which made many comrades in Changying sigh with emotion. This is of course based on the charm of Sun Ao's personal acting, he is a respectable Hui filmmaker, a veteran and outstanding performance artist worth remembering. However, he also belongs to a generation of intellectuals who have endured hardships and unswervingly, and belongs to the people's artists who are overloaded and willing to be "behind-the-scenes heroes", and people have felt and pinned many deep hearts on him.

  Veteran actor Ma Yuling followed from the hospital to the cemetery on crutches, Yin Aiqun, deputy director of Changying Factory, went to visit several times, Gong Xibin, who had returned from a business trip, got out of the car and went straight to the hospital, and Shanghai Film Translation Studio and foreign artists sent letters of condolence to Junshu, Shana, Li Zhen, Congwen, Lu Xiaoya, Zhang Huijun, Liu Baihong, He Xiaoshu, Lu Guilan, etc. Director Qi Xingjia's words represent everyone's thoughts: "Sun Ao does have 'proud bones' on his body, but there are absolutely no fly camp dogs on him. In the translation and production circle, he is a respected elder, but he is absolutely equal to others and treats people with sincerity. ”  

 

  Born on January 4, 1937, Bai Ruitong, also from Beijing, was also admitted to the Film Bureau's performance office. Later, he went to Sun Ao's class and was in two teaching groups with Sun Ao. At that time, the school was not allowed to fall in love, someone chased her, and Sun Ao had her in her heart that she did not dare to confess. Once "Xiao Bai" fell ill, the whole class went to see her, but Sun Ao did not go, but she sorted out the class notes she had left behind and handed them to Bai Mu. Bai Ruitong recalled that he had a "small idea": First, at the age of 14, he decided to enter the acting institute and did not shrink back after several twists and turns. The second is to choose Sun Ao, who is "not born well", to entrust him with life. There were many exhortations and warnings from all sides, and she just did not waver. The third is not to stay in Beijing, and to concentrate on changying. When they graduated in 1953, Beiying and Dongying actors merged to form the Beijing Film Actors Troupe. Sun Ao first appeared on the screen in the North Film's propaganda film "Five Flowers"; Bai Ruitong first went to Shanghai to participate in the filming of a science and education film, and then went to East Film to "Plain Guerrilla". In 1955, the Actors of North Film and East Film were divided into groups, when the head of the troupe, Tian Fang, wanted to leave Sun Ao as the heavy responsibility of explaining newsreels, but "Xiao Bai" had already decided, Sun Ao had to obey, and on December 25 of this year, he registered for marriage, and then "broke into the Kanto" with her.   

  Decades of exhaustion

  Sun Ao is a well-known "Desperate Sanlang" who has been working in the translation and production position for decades. In 1987, he said: "Looking back on half the way in life, how much time do you really have to engage in creation?" In addition to various movements, decentralization and learning, it was only 20 years. "He didn't let time go to waste. Once the work is pressed down, it is tireless and full of endless momentum. He has a small notebook detailing the achievements of these years, the workload is very amazing, like him constantly expanding the field of performing arts, so enthusiastic about youth education, it seems difficult to reach. For example, in 1988, from January to December, there was almost no interruption and rest, one after another on the ground film and television dubbing, plus radio drama director, performance, Shakespeare recording, program, party hosting, feature films, art films, advertising film commentary, radio prose recitation, etc., a total of 62 items. According to incomplete statistics, Sun Ao recorded his first film "Cellulose Factory" (Japan) from 1956 to the mid-1990s: (1) dubbed more than 500 Chinese and foreign films, accounting for more than two-thirds of the main roles, and nearly 300 commentaries for news, science and education, and art films; (2) dubbed more than 300 episodes of Chinese and foreign TV dramas such as "Female Slave", "Bian Ka", "Long Night Spring Dawn", etc.; (3) directed or played important roles in more than 200 episodes of radio dramas, such as "Zhang Haidi" and "Yang Jingyu". (4) Played roles in 10 domestic films, such as "Eagle in the Storm", "Three Into the Mountain City", "Ji Hongchang", etc.; (5) rehearsed 16 dramas, mostly as the protagonists, performed 624 times, Lu You of "Chaotou Phoenix", Xiao Jiye of "The Young Generation", and Li Yuhe of "Red Lantern", all of which were well received; (6) Recorded more than 30 novels and commentaries, of which "Red Silk on the Battlefield" and "Red Rock" caused strong repercussions; (7) Recorded more than 40 e-teaching texts for primary and secondary schools, and gave dozens of lectures and recitations for colleges and middle schools ;(8) Has been the host of more than 200 press ceremonies, theatrical performances and television evenings.

  Sun Ao's main artistic achievements are manifested in the dubbing of films, which have a broad range of language, a pure and profound timbre, and are good at creating complex and rich character images. Emil of Loyalty (1959), Nekhlyudov of Resurrection (1961), Stefan of Archduke Stefan (1974), Maxim of Butterfly Dream (1979), Hamed of Eternal Love (1980), and Pradon of Two Men's Station (1986) are all expressed as fascinating. For his achievements in translating and producing dubbing, he has won the National Government Award, the first award of the China Performing Society, and the "Little Hundred Flowers" Award of Changying 11 times.

  Sun Ao is meticulous in his art and strives for excellence, "it is better to have a thousand voices than a thousand voices", and is disgusted by the business habits of shoddy manufacturing for money. Dubbing "Resurrection", the original novel was read five times; in order to find the voice feeling of the old hunter of "Cross Creek" (Uk), he shouted out his throat with an abnormal pronunciation, and his colleagues lovingly advised him, he laughed and said: "The voice actor must first try his best to adapt and get close to the role, and can't just think of maintaining his own vocal method." In 1993, Jin Yong, through Ouyang Ruqiu of the Film Academy, was looking for a candidate to record his martial arts novels, and he fell in love with Sun Ao, and wanted to pay him a high salary to record for three years. Bai Ruitong felt that Sun Ao was too serious, afraid that his body would not be able to eat, and persuaded him to resign. Huang Shiguang, the leader of Changying, had recommended him to be the director of the translation studio, but Sun Ao thought that he was "not this material" and refused. Bai Ruitong joked: "When you become an official, you have to install iron windows in your home." According to your nature, don't let people smash the glass! ”

  Once fresh and beautiful, Bai Ruitong has starred in more than 20 roles in "Plain Guerrilla" (1955), "Mother Wants Me to Marry" (1956), "Silent Mountain Forest" (1957), "Heroes and Children" (1964), "No. 5 Garden Street" (1984) and other films, with considerable artistic potential. However, she spent a lot of her efforts on supporting Sun Ao's cause, especially after Sun Ao's poor health in the 90s, and she still has no regrets about it. Li Zhen said it well in a letter to Bai Ruitong: "It is you who sacrificed your own career and stood behind Sun Ao to support him through hardships and towards the glory of his career." "Bai Ruitong is worthy of Sun Ao's lifelong confidant.

  "You are the day of my life"

  For Sun Bai, the daughter of Sun Ao and Bai Ruitong, April 26 is a day when the sky "fell down". The deep love between father and daughter led her to give her father a heartfelt word: "You are the heaven of my life." This is naturally also the voice of Sun Ao's son Sun Jiahe and daughter-in-law Liu Yana.

  Through Sun Bai's eyes, we see the vivid figures of Sun Ao and Bai Ruitong in the depths of time.

  Sun Ao likes to comb her little daughter's braids, likes to hold her little daughter on the ground to tell her stories, and her daughter remembers her father's words: "Freeze to death in the windward station, starve to death." She remembers that during the Cultural Revolution, every time her father was fighting, he always went home with his head held high, but sometimes he vomited blood after entering the house.

  The parents have been with each other all their lives, and Sun Bai has seen it really. Father said more than once: "In my eyes, your mother is the most beautiful woman in the world." She also learned from her father that during the Cultural Revolution, her mother had sold blood to support her family. When I woke up from a recent critical illness, my father's only words were to my mother: "I am with you... Not enough. ”

  There was once a healthy Sun Ao, a happy Sun Ao, and a basketball master Sun Ao. After developing diabetes in the early 1980s, he became weaker and more tortured, and eventually the comorbidity endangered his brain. Sun Ao must be strong and enterprising in his life, but he is always content with the ordinary. In his notes, he deliberately recorded a passage from Gu Long: "'Ordinary' is easier said than done, but it is as difficult as ascending to the heavens." How much pain does a person have to go through? How much desolation? How much capry? in order to achieve - ordinary! ”

  Perhaps this is a state of life that Sun Ao pursues: sublimation in the ordinary.
