I heard that the mangroves of the sea in my hometown have long disappeared, because of the frequent ships passing by, and because of the increasing number of large-scale constructions in the coastal area. The mangrove forest on the island of the East China Sea in his hometown can bear fruit. At first, we didn't understand that its scientific name was "mangrove forest", and the villagers were always shouting "mandarin, citrus". The name of the fruit tree is the same as the fruit, in the mouths of the villagers, it is so kind, just like their own relatives. In August and September, when the fruit begins to ripen, the young and middle-aged brothers in the village will yo-yo "pick citrus Dingluo", "go to pick citrus Dingluo", the horn of harvesting citrus is blown, and the familiar village sound is so exciting! At about the same time, the information that you can pick oranges spread throughout the village, and everyone knows it, men, women and children. To meet the gift of the sea, every family has long been ready, waiting for the sea to recede. When the appointed time arrived, a stout man stood at the door of each house, carrying two large bamboo baskets, accompanied by his mother and wife, and striding out of the house with a smile and melting into the specific dirt alley of the village. The number of people was almost there, and the procession of picking oranges, with some talk and laughter, marched majestically towards the seashore.
The "Mandarin" tree is very short
The citrus trees of the sea in my hometown are full of eyes, the tallest trees are no more than the shoulders of adults, and the branches are full of grains of fruit, which cannot be picked all autumn. Not only people from our village picked it, but people from several nearby villages came to pick it, and in the tense picking process, people from different villages enhanced their friendship in talking to each other. Freshly picked oranges must not be eaten, but should be soaked in water, soaked for more than 20 days, the green and astringent flavor is removed, and when you want to eat, you should take a few handfuls to cook or fry the dishes of the current rice. Soaking citrus, each family has prepared several large ceramic jars, and some families even use large porcelain jars containing millet to soak citrus, my family is, because my family has a lot.

Petalless sea mulberry imported from abroad
About three years ago, from the city to take a car back to Donghai Island, at the end of the East Sea Bridge, my eyes suddenly lit up, the beaches on both sides of the bridge, when was it so green and pleasing to the eye! I was pleasantly surprised and asked the person next to me, what kind of tree is that? That's mangroves! The answers I received brought me back to the warm memories of my childhood. I rejoiced, but I was suspicious, because the mangroves in my memory were not like this. The mangrove forest that nourished my soul, the leaves are round, why are the mangroves here so slender, the leaves are also slender, as feminine as willow trees, can also withstand the wind and waves on the seashore, sun and rain? I am ignorant that there are 55 species of mangroves in the world, and this is just one of them. This willow-like mangrove forest, scientific name "petalless sea mulberry", can reach heights of 15 to 20 meters, and is a tree species introduced from abroad.
Since then, every time I go back to Donghai Island, when I am about to reach the East Sea Island Bridge, I will look at it from afar. I love that this mangrove forest opens up a large turquoise sky, and many times, I can see flocks of egrets flying among them. The beautiful birds have returned, they have heard the call of the mangroves, lingering and stationed in this beach with fresh air, which has become their eternal home.

In July this year, two of my classmates when I was a teacher training student traveled thousands of miles from Guangzhou to visit me. In order to repay their deep friendship and show them the new changes in Zhanjiang in recent years, we intend to take them to see several representative attractions in Zhanjiang, one of which is the Xiashan Guanhai Promenade. Seriously, I was a little nervous about including the Kasumiyama Sea View Promenade as a sightseeing spot. A few years ago, I used to go there to relax, and although the promenade area was beautiful, it was accompanied by a gust of sea breeze and a stench that lingered in the air.
When we arrived at the Sea View Promenade, the current view stunned us! When did the mangroves here grow so unstoppable, so powerful, so vigorous! There are also winding sightseeing trails where visitors can stroll. What I am most satisfied with is not only the beautiful scenery of the seaside, the fresh air of the sea washes the lungs, and the "stench" I am worried about has disappeared without a trace. Zhanjiang, you are really powerful!
Because of the tight schedule, although we greatly admired the sea view and deeply fascinated by the dense mangrove forest, we could only stay for a while and leave. This encounter with a large mangrove forest, touched like a dragonfly, left a trace in my soul. I secretly decided that next time, I would find a day with plenty of time to enjoy the mangroves.
But many of my plans, like hanging on floating clouds, always slip away silently because they are "busy.". The wish to take a good look at the mangroves was finally fulfilled last Saturday, thanks to the Zhanjiang Daily's publicity of the mangroves, which was nothing less than an urge for me to put it into action.

Leizhou Jiulong Mountain, Techeng Island, Lianjiang Gaoqiao, etc. are all over the mangrove nature reserves in Zhanjiang Bay, and the list goes on. Looking at the mangrove forest, we recently chose the Xiashan Guanhai Promenade and the Jinshawan Guanhai Promenade.
Mangrove sightseeing is in the ascendant
This time, we had plenty of time to watch the mangroves of the Xiashan Guanhai Promenade, and we even walked into the woods, letting our feet touch the white sand under the woods, and touching the hard branches and roots of the mangroves with our hands. Walking through the mangroves, I found a familiar figure, this was my childhood friend, but not my childhood partner! My heart is full of joy and sadness.
There is no mangrove forest with hometown fruit, and the "orange" of fruit is too low to protect the ocean. The mangroves here are all tall and shady, and when I walked inside, the whole person was submerged. I looked at the scavengers and patron saints of the sea, at the flocks of seabirds of different sizes that stayed on the beach, and at the groups of people who were happy to enjoy the sea, and I couldn't help but give a great admiration to these mangroves! In addition to the petalless sea mulberry imported from abroad, I know the wood olive here. In the sea area of his hometown that belongs to the world of "Citrus Ding", Mulan was also once involved in the period, and was called "willow drum" by the villagers. They are much taller, their branches are much more luxuriant, and they take up a lot of places, so they are disliked by the villagers. Who do people know that they are great heroes in maintaining the marine ecology?

After four o'clock, the sun was slightly weaker, and there were more and more tourists in the Xiashan Guanhai Promenade, but we turned to Jinshan Bay at this moment when the scenery was infinitely good. The mangrove forest in Jinsha Bay is also densely grown, and the endless view is all petalless sea mulberry. Because there is a beach square, Jinsha Bay is more lively, watching the sea, tasting food, leisurely walking, playing with children, and laughing endlessly. I watched in a daze as the various kites on the beach flew high in the air, admiring the happiness of my children now. In my childhood, I was tied to the mangroves by the sea, and I couldn't taste the bitterness of "mandarin". Lovely children, may you always be so carefree and happy, and may you not forget that this beach for your joy is the credit of the mangrove forest not far away! With such a wish in my heart, I also became cheerful and integrated into the joyful atmosphere of the moment. Under the coconut trees along the promenade, there are all kinds of special snacks, and I can't resist the temptation to ask for a slice of hand-cranked cake that is freshly fried and sold, which is really delicious.

With love and reverence for mangroves, I spent some time consulting Baidu to understand mangroves. I am very happy that some coastal areas still have fruitful "citrus", scientifically known as "white bone soil". That fruit is now very rare and precious.
