Surrounded by the sparkling Jinhai Lake, nestled in an exquisitely conceived ecological green space... Since its opening, the Fengxian District Museum has continuously attracted tourists and photography enthusiasts to punch in. Here, you can soak up the sun, stroll comfortably around the lake, or admire the precious collection of artifacts and stop for each exquisite exhibition. This is a natural and additive-free ecological garden, and it is also a museum class that displays the history of humanities.
Feel the charm of Bongbo architecture

The Fengxian District Museum was built in the 1960s, rebuilt in May 1994, and rebuilt again in April 2017. Located on the shore of Shanghai's Fish Gimhae Lake, the museum was designed by a new generation of Japanese architects, Sou Fujimoto. With a total construction area of 36,000 square meters, the new building is designed and shaped by three interconnected and relatively independent units, which is very stylish.
The three elliptical building units are connected by the public greening of the roof and circular passages, the two-storey corridor, the landscape water system on the first floor and the public space layer by layer. Under the background of the overall ecological environment of Shanghai Fish, it highlights the beautiful artistic conception of "large pearls and small pearls falling on the jade plate" in traditional Chinese culture.
The Fengxian District Museum uses the method of reducing the size of the building to zero in the design of the architectural form, so that the functional area is divided into three independent spaces of exhibition hall, activity center and museum, and visitors and visitors can not affect each other.
It is worth mentioning that the Fengxian District Museum also has a hidden "bright spot" in the design, that is, although the venue is not a national first-class museum, it has reserved a "first-class standard" exhibition hall during the design, which can undertake the highest level temporary exhibition in China, which is also an important reason why Fengbo's debut "Yongzheng Palace Cultural Relics Exhibition" can be exhibited here. Among all the museums in Shanghai at present, the Fengxian District Museum can definitely be called "excellent students" in terms of its spatial pattern and functional facilities.
The exhibition hall in the punch card hall
The new Fengxian District Museum has two permanent exhibition halls, the "Fengxian Historical Exhibition Hall" and the "Haitang Cultural Hall", and two temporary exhibition halls hold high-quality exhibitions all year round. The museum has a total of more than 3,000 cultural relics in the categories of ceramics, calligraphy and painting, statues, bronze and other categories. The exhibition halls on each floor also present different visual styles and spatial atmospheres due to different themes.

The immersive experience area in the exhibition hall is very popular, and the use of new technology here to create a virtual image telling the history of Fengxian towns, people in it, as if walking into the history of Fengxian, in the real scene of thousands of years ago, very shocking.

Limited time new exhibition

The exhibition not only shows exquisite jewelry, but also details the types of hair ornaments, the lineage table of the Ming Dynasty and other related knowledge, the audience can not only see the prosperity of the Ming Dynasty in this exhibition, but also can be beneficial to visit, full of knowledge.
Great view outside the museum
If the architectural shape of the Fengxian District Museum corresponds to the "big beads and small beads", then the "jade plate" refers to the turquoise background color around the museum.
Whether you walk in from Jinhai Road or Hangnan Highway, the lush grass and trees are the first to crash into the eye. All the way to the flowers and trees, all the way along the lake and green water, the way to the museum is more like an outing.
On the shore of Jinhai Lake, in the middle of the lake, the new Fengxian Museum is like a pearl, rising from the flat ground and blooming dazzling on the side of the lakeside road.
Walk around the museum and you'll also find different colors. Blue sky, colorful clouds, sunrise, twilight, against the background of Shanghai's fish and pond water, the whole museum shows a stunning and beautiful impression of a thousand faces.
