The peak of Wugai Mountain stands tall and sticks straight into the clouds, and the peak is covered by frost, snow, clouds, fog and dew all year round, hence the name.

People's impression of Wugai Mountain is often "in the clouds and fog". The air on Wugai Mountain after the rain is humid, and if the sun "shows its face" at this time, the water vapor will rise in heat, "climb" to a certain height and then become cold into clouds, and then spread out. If one observes at the top of a mountain, he sees a sea of clouds; if he is halfway up the mountain, he sees clouds.

Mountains stretch for hundreds of miles. Clouds cover the fog and trees are verdant. There are both alpine grassland vegetation and a large area of subtropical primary broad-leaved forest, with a forest coverage rate of 99.35% and a very high negative oxygen ion content. In 2017, two chitose ancient ginkgo biloba plants were discovered. The "husband and wife ancient ginkgo biloba" is more than 1100 years old, located in the alpine primary secondary forest at an altitude of 1260 meters, although the trunk is hollow, but the branches are luxuriant.

Wugaishan Provincial Forest Park is located in the southeast of Suxian District, Chenzhou City. Founded in 1965, the existing forest land area is 6423.3 hectares, of which the ecological public welfare forest area is 5449 hectares, the living standing wood accumulation is 465,100 cubic meters, the forest coverage rate is 99.35%, and the highest altitude is 1619.9 meters. The forest farm belongs to the central subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest area, with more than 50,000 acres of primary secondary forest. There are 1236 species of vascular plants in 172 families and 562 genera within the forest farm, including Bole tree, yew tree, ginkgo biloba and Metasequoia, and second-level protected plants such as fragrant fruit trees, grate trisaria trees, Fujian cypress, sightseeing wood, etc.
