This "Thunderstorm" has a bit of suspense

Last night, the first premiere play of the "World of Performing Arts" in the New Year, the Shanghainese version of the drama "Thunderstorm", ushered in the opening of the China Grand Theatre. The play is jointly produced by Shanghai Baoshan District Shanghai Opera Art Heritage Center and Shanghai Yidong Tianxia Culture Communication Co., Ltd. Another way to interpret the Cao Yu classic in Shanghainese, originally thought that the audience would first "roll the seeds" cautiously and wait, did not expect that the performance has not yet been sold 90%, once again verifying people's desire for rural sounds.

In the view of the lead actor Hua Wen, "'Thunderstorm' is still a work that can spread our 'Shanghai voice', in the early years, "Thunderstorm" was adapted into Shanghai opera and became a classic of a generation, and now we use dialect dramas to interpret and let Shanghainese return to the city stage." ”

Watching "Thunderstorm" after the 90s is very suspenseful

Different from the traditional "Thunderstorm" hall structure real stage, the visual presentation of this version of "Thunderstorm" has the meaning of "dark fairy tale". Seven or eight giant skeleton window ledges across the stage to become the background, still a dull and low-pressure atmosphere, but with a sense of time and space separation, on the stage based on black and white gray, peacock green sofas, walnut furniture, especially outstanding.

On the stage, the first appearance of the flourishing, a lake blue velvet cheongsam, with folded tulle on both sides of the placket, as she slowly descends the spiral staircase, the skirt swings lightly with the pace, with a unique charm, like the midnight rose in this old-fashioned big family like a dead grave. The story of "Thunderstorm" is not in Shanghai, and now it is interpreted in Shanghainese, and it has done a localization transplant in the sense of atmosphere.

The young designer Wang Yu, who served as the stage designer of the play, said from the perspective of the post-90s generation that "If the result is presented on the stage first, it is simply the beginning of an excellent suspense film." So she designed a cool stage for Thunderstorm, and the scene changed with muffled thunder, thunder, and explosion. At the climax of the play, the thunder exploded, and the huge chandelier that was always hanging in the center of the main hall cracked into pieces in mid-air and fell down, as if the whole world had collapsed.

Listening to Shanghainese for two hours was a pleasure

Of course, the biggest attraction of this drama is the interpretation of Shanghainese. When the audience left, some viewers called their friend Amway for the first time to play this drama, "The spirit of the head, the old good looking, the key to listening to more than two hours of Shanghai gossip, enjoyable." Some senior drama fans who have watched many versions of "Thunderstorm" said: "Mr. Cao Yu said at the beginning that he did not expect that "Thunderstorm", "Sunrise" and "Home" have all created Shanghai operas, and they are very suitable. Imagine if Mr. Cao Yu knew that the dialect drama "Thunderstorm" had been staged, he would be very happy! ”

What makes people sigh is that last night, many school-age children who were on winter vacation in the theater were brought by their parents to "grind their ears", and ding Yiran, a daughter who had just turned 7 years old, was brought to watch the play by her mother, and asked her when she left: "Nong can understand (mouth + cut)?" The daughter, who is usually quite resistant to Shanghainese, unconsciously replied: "Allah can understand the forehead." This surprised Xiaoding's mother: "I always thought that my daughter could not speak Shanghainese, but I did not expect that she would not say it, and Shanghai Xiaoyuan still had to know two sentences of Shanghainese, so as not to forget her origins."

Leading the Baoshan Shanghai Opera Troupe to rehearse the dialect version of "Thunderstorm" in "Breaking the Circle", Hua Wen withstood tremendous pressure. Some old friends advised her not to be "maverick", or to keep the roots of Shanghai opera; more than the kindness of her predecessors, her artistic life is limited, and she should not "do the right thing". In this regard, she still insisted: "Shanghai opera should be revitalized, and the revitalization of the Shanghainese environment is the key." ”
