The game mainly tells the story of the mystery novelist Kawami Haruka (はるか) one day after receiving a commission from the scholar Eiji 40, and together with the editor Akiri Yamase visit Eiji's hometown "Forty Houses" at the foot of Mount Fuji. Eiji's commission was to find out the identity of the white bone corpse under the cherry blossom tree and to find the legendary "immortal fruit" of the forty mansions. Haruka was half-convinced by this legend, when Akira Yamase handed him an ancient book, written by Eiji's ancestor, Forty Kano, in the form of a novel about the "Fruit of Immortality" and its stories from a hundred years ago, which corresponded to the killings that occurred in reality. Players travel through different periods in Japan, collecting information scattered throughout each era, uncovering the truth about four murders committed by the Forty-See family over the past hundred years, and solving ancient mysteries.
The game will be directed by Koichiro Ito, film and television production and scene directors for Yasuhito Tachibana, who has participated in the Netflix hit drama "Naked Director", and developed by H.A.N.D. Studio of New Wonderful World. Junichi Ehara, who has worked on Neil: The Automatic Human form and The Fall of Babylon, is a producer.
