According to The Athletic Lakers reporter Bill Oram, multiple sources revealed that despite some pressure from the coaching staff, the Lakers have never made progress in negotiations to trade Westbrook, which makes Pelinka's trading space only on the edge of the trading market.
Westbrook's contract expires in 2023 and is paid $44.21 million this season and a $47.06 million player option next season.
So far this season, Westbrook has made 55 appearances for the Lakers, averaging 18.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, 7.6 assists and 1.1 steals per game.
