Cao Peijun, male, Han ethnicity, born in April 1963, 59 years old, was the vice president of the Sichuan Provincial Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Standing Committee of the Yibin Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and the vice chairman of the Municipal Federation of Industry and Commerce.
Before being investigated, Cao Peijun was more well known as the chairman of Yibin Hengxu Investment Group Co., Ltd. Hengxu Group is a family-owned enterprise and the first private enterprise in Yibin City with an annual output value of more than 10 billion yuan.
Public information shows that Cao Peijun started with a brick kiln.
According to a 2017 report by Yibin News Network, in 1993, Cao Peijun, the head of Hengxu, borrowed 30,000 yuan to start his home and contracted a small brick kiln in Shengtian, GaoXian County, Yibin.
In 2004, Hengxu Group entered the bottle cap industry. In 2011, Yibin Hengxu Investment Group Co., Ltd. was established, which has kiln technology, wine packaging, building materials, real estate development and other industries. In 2012, Hengxu established a microfinance company.
According to the Chengdu Business Daily, Cao Peijun was once the "bottle cap king" of China's wine industry.
According to public information, Yibin Hengxu Packaging Co., Ltd. belongs to Yibin Hengxu Investment Group. Yibin Hengxu Packaging Co., Ltd. mainly produces high-grade anti-counterfeiting packaging products for large-scale liquor enterprises such as Wuliangye, Maotai, Langjiu, Luzhou Laojiao, Jian Nanchun, Fenjiu, Tuopai, etc., and is also a leading enterprise of anti-counterfeiting bottle caps for liquor.
In the local area, Hengxu Group was very high-profile.
In October 2013, at the South Bank Sports Center in Yibin City, Hengxu Group held a "Hengxu Light" star concert under the title, inviting many stars.
In a 2017 article, the group said that holding the "Hengxu Light" concert was intended to "enrich the cultural life of residents", but some local media said that the purpose of holding the star concert was to "enhance the group's public relations image".
