Foreign media reported that Sony has begun to look for new partners to promote the establishment of a pure electric vehicle business. At present, Sony has cooperated with many internationally renowned parts suppliers, including Magna Steyr, Bosch, Valeo and AImotive.

Izumi Kawanishi, Sony's executive vice president, has said that while it is too early to talk about sony cars' product details and dates, Sony understands that it must act quickly if it wants to gain a foothold in the field of pure electric vehicles. But Izumikawa Nishi is not sure if the future of Sony's electric vehicle business will be finally decided by the end of 2022.

At CES 2022, Sony presented us with a Vision-S02 pure electric SUV concept car that can carry 7 people. The car is about 4.9 meters long, the wheelbase is also more than 3 meters, and the powertrain consists of two electric motors with a maximum power of 200 kW, thus achieving four-wheel drive based on the rear drive.

Interestingly, Sony also announced that the mobility division will be responsible for exploring the possibilities and potential of entering the electric vehicle business.
