The four realms of life: gratitude to others, restraint for oneself, cherishing things, and doing our best for things

1. Be grateful to people

There is a 104-year-old lady who is deaf and clear-sighted and mentally strong.

Someone asked her for the secret of longevity, and the old lady laughed:

I have a panacea for spending three minutes a day in gratitude.

Spend a minute thanking parents, husbands, children, neighbors and strangers; spend a minute thanking nature for all kinds of care and thoughtfulness; spend a minute thanking every peaceful, warm and happy day.

Gratitude makes her heart flow with a fountain of happiness, nourished by such "divine water", her body is naturally healthy, and her life is naturally long.

"Cai Gen Tan" has a saying: People have grace for me and must not forget, and resentment must not be forgotten.

When people live a lifetime, they should never forget people's gratitude and remember people's grievances.

The sheep have the grace of kneeling milk, the crow has the righteousness of feeding back, crossing the river does not forget the bridge builder, the draught does not forget the digger, the fallen think of its tree, and the drinker carries its source.

In this life, we should remember most of those who generously donate to us when we are poor; those who insert knives into our ribs when we are in difficult times; those who serve us food and medicine when we are sick; and those who are in the same boat with us when we are in pain.

Wei Zheng of the Tang Dynasty once said, "Those who love to come out are anti-love, and those who are blessed are blessed." ”

You love others, and others love you; you seek happiness for others, and others will make you happy.

The grass feels the grace of the earth, only to get its lushness; the flower feels the grace of the rain, to get its gorgeousness; to feel the grace of the other, to get its growth.

2. Restraint on oneself

Wang Yangmingdao: People must have the heart to serve themselves, in order to be able to deny themselves, to be able to deny themselves, to become themselves.

Goethe also said in Faust that he who can restrain can only do things.

Don't be confused by external objects, know how to delay gratification, and your life will win half.

There was a painter who wanted to paint a Buddha, so he went to the temple.

He saw a monk with a clear and serene temperament. So he invited the monks to be his models and promised to be rewarded with a heavy sum of money.

After the painting was completed, the painter became famous in one fell swoop, and the monks were also richly paid.

Soon after, the painter wanted to paint the devil and went to prison.

He saw a prisoner with a hideous face and began to paint.

At this time, the prisoner lost his voice and cried bitterly.

The painter was curious: "What are you crying?" ”

The prisoner said, "The last time you painted the Buddha, it was me, and this time it was me who drew the demon." ”

It turned out that after the monks got paid, they went down the mountain to spend the day and drink, eat, drink and gamble. The money was soon exhausted, but his desires grew larger and larger, and eventually he fell step by step, began to steal, rob, do nothing evil, and finally went to jail.

The painter listened, sighed, threw away his brush, and stopped painting.

The human heart is the most difficult to look at, and the Buddha and the devil are only in one thought. Once caught up in desire, there is no room for return.

Zhuangzi Yue: The wren nests in the deep forest, but one branch; the rat drinks the river, but the belly is full.

Wrens nest in the forest, all it takes is a branch, and moles need nothing more than a stomach to drink in the river.

Restrain your desires and simplify your life in order to have more.

Restrain your own casualness in order to become a master person;

Restrain your desires in order to become a self-disciplined person;

Restrain your temper in order to become a rational person;

Only by restraining one's dependence can one become a self-reliant person.

3. Cherish things

Zhu Bailu wrote in the "Zhu Zi Family Training", "A porridge and a meal, when thinking is not easy to come by; half a silk and half a wisp, the constant thought of material strength is difficult." ”

Thin water flows every year, it is difficult to be big and big for a long time, and to cherish things is to cherish blessings.

Tao Kan, a famous general of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, was a person who cherished things and blessings.

When he passed through Jingzhou, he ordered the shipbuilder to collect the sawdust left over from the shipbuilding period, no matter how much it was, and all of them were collected according to the order. Everyone was puzzled.

On the first day of the first lunar month, at the beginning of the snow, the crowd gathered. After cleaning, the front of the mansion was still muddy. Tao Kan asked people to scatter sawdust on the ground, so that it could pass normally.

Moreover, the official bamboo, Tao Kan ordered to leave thick bamboo heads, piled up like mountains. Later, Huan Wen cut down Shu, and the bamboo heads were used as bamboo nails for shipbuilding.

Another time when digging bamboo, an official dug up the roots, because the bamboo roots were very hard and could be used as a material for bamboo nails. When Tao Kan saw this, he immediately promoted this person two levels in a row.

No wonder "The World Speaks a New Language" praises it: Tao Kan is frugal and diligent. Sawdust, bamboo roots and other subtle things, to Tao Kan, turn decay into magic.

It can be seen that all things in the world have their own place, and they use it wonderfully, and they have one mind.

Cherish a tree, enough to witness the vicissitudes of the years; cherish a cloud, enough to bring a cool summer breeze; cherish a drop of water, enough to refract the sun's rays; cherish a smile, enough to warm the frozen heart.

Everything in the world is as short as a dream, may we cherish people and things, sit and watch the years go by, and embrace peace and security!

4. Do your best

What is true best effort?

That is, you have exhausted all the ways you can think of, the efforts you can make, and the mental efforts you can do, and you have exhausted them, and this is the real effort.

If it still doesn't help, then, accept the result, and if you are unwilling, you must let go, because you really try your best. As Wang Anshi said in the "Journey to the Zen Mountains", those who do their best and cannot reach it can have no regrets, who can be ridiculed?

And many times, when you try your best, you will find that the heavens and the earth are suddenly wider, the world is suddenly bigger, you can think of many ways that have never been thought of before, and you can meet many noble people who have never met before.

This is the law of attraction: when you make up your mind to do something, the whole world will come to you.

My brother is a great reader and is in the top three grades in every exam. When I came home for the New Year, I asked him: "It must be very hard to study so hard, right?" ”

The younger brother said easily: "It's not hard, I just try a little better than others." ”

I asked with interest, "What do you mean by that?" ”

He went on to say: "The more problems you can't solve, the more you can't leave them alone, and my principle is to understand all the knowledge points and not let go of any blind spot doubts." In this way, every time I make a test paper, the less knowledge points I will not have, and the better the natural test will be when taking the test. ”

"Good boy!" I couldn't help but clap my hands and laugh.

Maybe the younger brother is only talking about learning methods, but it is even more wise to put it in life.

The of a thousand miles collapses in the ant nest, and the platform of the nine layers rises from the tired soil. The accumulation of bit by bit seems insignificant, and over time, it can produce a qualitative reaction.

Two people encountered a tiger in the forest, one person threw up his legs and ran, and the other asked: You can't run a tiger anyway, why are you still so desperate?

The man said, I don't have to run faster than a tiger, I just run faster than you.

Do your best in everything a little bit, and the results will vary widely.

Finally, a message to takeshi Kitano:

Although it is hard, I will still choose that hot life.

I hope that you can also become a person who is grateful to others, restrains himself, cherishes things, and does his best for things.

Love you and wish you well.
