Lanzhou Regional Climate Center released a message on February 9 that in January this year, the average temperature in Gansu Province was -3.8 °C, 1.8 °C higher than the same period of the year, the fifth highest in history; the precipitation was 5.3 mm, 40% more than the same period of the year, the most in the past four years. During the month, 29 counties (districts) experienced cold wave weather, which was less than in the past 5 years.

In terms of temperature:

In January, the average temperature in Gansu Province was slightly lower than that of the same period of the year, except for the western part of Gannan Prefecture, most of the province's temperature was high, of which the central part of Jiuquan City, central Zhangye City, Baiyin City, Dingxi City, Western Pingliang City, Northern Qingyang City, North Central Tianshui City and Eastern Longnan City were 2-4 °C higher, and most of the rest were 1-2 °C higher.

In terms of precipitation:

In January, precipitation in Gansu was unevenly distributed, and the west of the river was less and the east was more. In Hexi area, except for Wusheling, there is no obvious precipitation in the remaining counties (districts); 90% of the counties (districts) in Hedong have precipitation, and the precipitation in Pingliang City and Qingyang City is more than 1 times more than that of the same period of the year, and the cumulative precipitation of Kuntong, Huating, Tianshui and Maijiben stations ranks first in history.
