4. Malik's disease
Malik's disease is a highly contagious tumor disease of quail caused by a virus, which is divided into two types: neurotype and visceral type. The neurotype is characterized by paralysis of the legs and wings, and the visceral type is characterized by the formation of tumors in various internal organs and gonads. Quail Malik's disease has been reported at home and abroad. In the practice of quail production, as long as the malecta vaccine is correctly vaccinated, the disease can be controlled.
【Diagnostic points】
1) Young quails are susceptible to Malik's disease, but generally do not show symptoms or die until after 10 weeks. According to research reports, Japanese quails are the most susceptible to the disease, and females are more susceptible than male quails.
2) Sick quail is mentally weak, emaciated, anemic and dead, and autopsy can see local or all tumors of different degrees in internal organs such as heart, stomach, liver, spleen and other organs.
[Prevention and control points]
Quail Malik's disease is currently untreatable, the key is prevention. Vaccination is an important measure to prevent and treat the disease, and the commonly used fire herpes virus vaccine (HVT). Chicks should be inoculated at the age of 1 day after they have just come out of their shells, and 0.2 ml should be injected subcutaneously (the amount of 1 part of quail).
[Note]
When vaccinating against Malik's disease, it is necessary to prevent the early infection of the chicks, pay attention to the disinfection and isolation of the quail environment, and do not mix quails of different sizes.

5. Diarrhea
The pathogen of white diarrhea is salmonella chicken, this bacteria is all over the external environment, the currently proven salmonella genus includes nearly 2000 serotypes, but only more than 10 harmful to people and livestock and poultry are present in the reproductive organs, intestines and liver of diseased quails, and germs can be excreted with feces and eggs. Diarrhea can be transmitted both horizontally and vertically through eggs, mainly harming chicks. Diarrhea occurs and is endemic in many areas and is one of the serious diseases that plague the development of the quail industry.
1) Quail diarrhea mainly occurs in quail within 2 weeks of age. Symptoms are mental malaise, neck and eyes closed, isolated, screaming from time to time, and white mushy stool blocking the anus.
2) Older quails often suffer from paratyphoid or typhoid fever at the same time, mainly in quail farms with poor feeding management conditions, and are sporadic or endemic. Sick quails present with loss of appetite, diarrhea, discharge of thin yellow-green feces, extreme wasting, liver and splenomegaly on autopsy, necrosis lesions, thickening of the mucosa of the small intestine, or hemorrhagic inflammation.
3) Species quail can be diagnosed by quail diarrhea] hemagglutination test method, and those who are seropositive can be diagnosed as quail diarrhea infected.
1) Quail quail should be regularly quarantined for quail diarrhea and positive breed quail should be eliminated, which is an important means to eliminate vertical transmission.
2) Pay attention to the feeding management and environmental hygiene of quail, once the epidemic is found, immediately isolate the diseased quail, and use antibacterial drugs for prevention and treatment.
