Red Star News reporter learned from the Chengdu Economic and Information Bureau today (19th) that the 90MPa liquid-driven piston compressor and mobile hydrogen refueling station intelligent integrated system jointly developed by Sichuan Dachuan Compressor Co., Ltd. and Xi'an Jiaotong University has been successfully developed recently.

Li Zuoliang, the relevant person in charge of Sichuan Dachuan Compressor Co., Ltd., introduced that the system fills a number of gaps in China - including the field of liquid-driven piston compressors in domestic hydrogen refueling stations, the design and system integration of pressurization to filling processes, system energy optimization and thermal management and hydrogen refueling station safety monitoring and equipment health management.
For example, as the first set of liquid-driven piston compressors with independent intellectual property rights in China, the system has achieved a breakthrough in high-efficiency and long-life sealing technology in high-pressure oil-free hydrogen environment. This means that the life of its wearing parts has reached the level of similar foreign products, of which the life of the self-developed gas valve exceeds the life of similar foreign products.
Li Zuoliang also revealed that at present, the compressors used in domestic hydrogen refueling stations mostly use diaphragm structures, with a pressure of 45MPa, while liquid-driven piston compressors can achieve 75MPa.
"This means that with the same tank, the liquid-driven piston compressor can achieve a longer range for the car and have more advantages in terms of floor space, operating costs, service life and so on." He said that before the research and development of this technology, China's liquid-driven piston compressors mainly relied on imports, which also means that this research will further strengthen the production capacity of "Made in China".

For another example, the hydrogen refueling station safety monitoring and equipment health management system developed and adopted by the system adopts non-intrusive status monitoring technology, transmits to the equipment health management system through the wireless network, analyzes the collected data in real time, predicts the fault, makes suggestions to the user, and allows the user to manage the equipment more scientifically and healthily.
It is worth noting that the above management system has been successfully applied to the management of hydrogen refueling stations for the 2021 Beijing Winter Olympics.
At present, the "Technical Specifications for the Safe Use of Liquid-driven Piston Compressors for Hydrogen Refueling Stations" jointly drafted by Sichuan Dachuan Compressor Co., Ltd. and Xi'an Jiaotong University has passed the preliminary examination of the hydrogen energy series group of the China Gas Industry Association and will be promulgated and implemented at the end of 2021. This will also become China's first liquid-driven piston compressor safe use of technical specifications, "the breakthrough of key technologies will accelerate the construction of hydrogen refueling station infrastructure, promote the development of hydrogen energy and fuel cell vehicle industry."
