Jinchanggoutun is nearly 40 kilometers away from the Sanchakou Border Police Station, and the road between the police is bumpy and difficult to travel, and it is particularly difficult to return to the mountain when it encounters heavy snow. Therefore, Han Shuxiu vacated one of the only two rooms and used it as a "post station" for the police stationed on duty to stay overnight and rest.
Burn the fire in the winter for warmth, prepare melons and fruits in the summer to cool down, cook when hungry, buy medicine to take care of the sick... The "station" of 40 to 50 square meters has become a warm "home" for the police. Every time when the farmers are busy, the police also take time to help the old two families harvest in autumn, chop wood, and build chicken nests... The police called Han Shuxiu "Han Mama", and Han Shuxiu also regarded them as her children.
On the sixth day of the Chinese New Year, after eating breakfast, Han Shuxiu wrapped two layers of cotton clothes and two layers of insoles and began a routine patrol. "The scenery in the mountains is good, it is very happy to go out, I have more experience, and I am not at ease if I don't go out." Climbing the slope and wading through the snow, Han Shuxiu's pace is healthy, and it takes three or four hours for the old two to patrol once, and two or three times a week.
Today, the old couple is more than 70 years old, and under their leadership, the third son, Xue Lianjun, took the initiative to join the border guard team. Asked about the happiest thing in the past year, Han Shuxiu laughed, "The beginning of the 'station' only has one room, not long ago, we built a new house in the front yard for the police station as a police room, and the 'children' lived more spacious." ”
