Belgian media: Moussa Dembele will not renew his contract with Guangzhou City and will choose to retire

According to the Belgian media HCN news, Guangzhou city foreign aid Moussa Dembele decided to retire.

Dembele's contract with Guangzhou City expired at the end of last year, and Guangzhou City hoped to renew the midfielder's contract, but the 34-year-old Dembele chose not to renew his contract with the team and decided to end his career. Dembele also became another retired Belgian golden generation player after Vermalén.

Dembele was born on 16 July 1987 and debuted in the youth academy of Birchott, joining Willem II of the Netherlands in 2005, moving to Alkmaar and winning the Dutch First Division with the team. Dembele joined Fulham in 2010 and moved to Tottenham in 2012, where he played for the North London team for seven years. In January 2019, Dembele joined Guangzhou R&F, playing 47 times for the team, contributing 1 goal and 4 assists.

At the national team level, Dembele scored five goals in 82 appearances for Belgium, participating in the 2014 and 2018 World Cups and Euro 2016 with the team, and he officially withdrew from the Belgian national team in 2019.
