Faurecia and HELLA merge to form THEFORVIA Group The world's seventh largest auto parts dealer was born

On February 7, parts supplier Faurecia completed the acquisition of a 79.5% stake in another supplier, Hella, with a total amount of 5.3 billion euros (including cash and shares). After the completion of the merger and acquisition, Faurecia and HELLA formed a new parts group, named FORVIA, becoming the world's seventh largest auto parts supplier.

Faurecia originally owned the automotive interiors, seats and other business units. HELLA has business units such as automotive electronics and lighting. In the face of the acceleration of electrification and intelligent transformation, the merger of Faurecia and HELLA will achieve technological complementarity and maintain growth in the new era. The new group, FORVIA, will have a total of six business units – Interiors, Seats, Automotive Electronics, Green Mobility, Lighting and Lifecycle Solutions.

According to the information disclosed by the two sides, FORVIA Group plans to accelerate its business growth in Asia and provide more products for electric vehicles and fuel cell vehicles. By 2025, the Group's internal combustion engine-related business will be reduced to around 10% of its sales.

From now on, Faurecia is the controlling shareholder of HELLA. HELLA will continue to be a public company with its own independent governing body and will be fully credited to Faurecia's finances from 1 February 2022. WITH MORE THAN 300 INDUSTRIAL SITES AND 77 R&D CENTERS IN MORE THAN 40 COUNTRIES, WITH A TOTAL OF 150,000 EMPLOYEES, INCLUDING MORE THAN 35,000 ENGINEERS, FORVIA WILL HAVE 6 BUSINESS GROUPS AND 24 PRODUCT LINES. According to the plan, the combined FORVIA Group will achieve carbon neutrality in operations by 2025 and zero CO2 emissions by 2050.
