On February 8, Gu Ailing won the gold medal in the Women's SkiIng Competition at the Beijing Winter Olympics, the first gold medal in women's snow sports won by a Chinese athlete at the Winter Olympics, and the Chinese sports delegation won the snow gold medal after 16 years since Han Xiaopeng won the gold medal in freestyle skiing aerial skills at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin.
