Stein: The Thunder have $34 million in salary cap space and expect to absorb at least one unnecessary contract

The Thunder reportedly had a $10 million deal exception (acquired in the Ariza deal) expiring last week, and the Thunder's total salary is currently below the team's minimum salary total standard (also known as the poor ghost line).

Stein said the Thunder are expected to make at least one trade and absorb unnecessary contracts into the team's pay space — provided the team that sends the contract comes with the necessary draft pick compensation.
