Notable: Harden was looking for a broker to help him deal with potential trades & renewals & free markets

According to a joint article written by Woj and Ramona Shelburne, sources revealed that Harden and his team are looking for an agent to help him deal with the current situation.

Whether it's an upcoming trade deadline or a potential free agent market, a potential deal that could leave the Nets, Harden needs the agent's help.

Harden hasn't had an agent for years (his mom is his nominal agent), but he has a "business manager, Lorenzo McCloud." When Harden wanted to leave the Rockets in the 2020 offseason, he commissioned jason Ranne and Chafie Fields, two agents, as his representatives to start a dialogue with rocket management and other team management. The two men played a key role in Harden's journey to the Nets, but their working relationship with Harden ended in March 2021, the sources said.

When Harden considered a contract extension last offseason, he approached it the same way he did when he signed the rockets to the past two contracts: discussing the pros and cons between different contract structures with the players' association. That's why he doesn't want to pay agent commissions: he's a superstar who doesn't need to negotiate, and he can pick his favorite contracts at will.
