Michelle Elizabeth Keegan (born 3 June 1987) is a British actress best known for playing Tina McIntyre in the ITV soap opera Coronation Street and Sergeant George Lane in the BBC drama Our Girls. Keegan also played Tracy Shawcross in the BBC One drama Ordinary Lies, Tina Moore in the biopics Tina and Bobby, and Erin Croft in the Sky Max comedy Brassic.
Early life editing
Keegan was born in Stockport to michael Keegan and Jackie Turner. Her maternal great-grandmother, a Gibraltar native, was married to a British soldier stationed in Gibraltar, and she also shared distant Italian ancestry with her seven great-grandfathers who emigrated from Genoa to Gibraltar. Her father was of Irish descent.
She attended St Patrick's RC High School in Eccles, near Manchester, and later the Manchester Academy of Acting. She worked at Selfridges in the centre of Trafford and worked as a check-in agent at Manchester Airport.

In late 2007, in her second audition, Keegan won the role of Tina McIntyre on Coronation Street and accepted the role, beating out about 900 other auditions. She decided to leave the show six years later in 2013, when Tina was killed and last seen on June 2, 2014. On her show, Keegan's character Tina appears in many high-profile storylines. The Guardian listed her as one of the 10 best Coronation Street characters of all time in 2010. In 2008, the actress flew to South Africa to shoot the direct DVD film Coronation Street: Out of Africa, a spin-off of Coronation Street, in which she played Tina.
In June 2009, Keegan made his radio debut, co-hosting the BBC Radio 1 programme The Official Chart. In January 2011, she appeared on the cover of FHM magazine and was ranked 30th and 26th in the 2010 and 2011 polls of the 100 Hottest Women. She reappeared on their cover in March 2013 and finished fourth in the 2013 polls, winning in 2015.
Keegan made a cameo appearance of herself on the 2009 Easter special, Red Dwarf: Return to Earth. In June 2014, she embarked on a European tour, playing Tinker Bell in Peter Pan.
In 2015, she played Tracy Shawcross in the BBC drama "Ordinary Lies". In June 2015, it was announced that she would play Corporal Georgeie Lane in the BBC series Our Girls series 2, which aired in September 2016; the third season, consisting of 12 episodes, began airing in October 2017. She returned to her last series in 2020 as George. Also in 2016, Keegan made a cameo role in the ITV2 comedy series Plebs. In June 2016, she began filming the ITV drama Tina and Bobby, based on Tina Dean's relationship with Bobby Moore; a three-part series that aired in January 2017.
In 2017, Michelle Keegan partnered with clothing brand Lipsy to launch her own collection.
Keegan currently plays the main role of Erin Croft in Sky One's comedy series Brassic, which began in 2019.
Personal life
Keegan began a relationship with singer Max George in December 2010. The couple got engaged in June 2011 but ended their relationship the following year. In September 2013, after a nine-month courtship, the actress announced her engagement to Mark Wright. They married on May 24, 2015.
