Ctrip report: Local hotel orders accounted for about 60% of the Spring Festival in 2022 E-sports room orders increased by more than 80%.

According to the "2022 Spring Festival Tourism Summary Report" released by Ctrip on February 6, the fifth and sixth days of the first lunar month are the peak periods for returning to the Spring Festival holiday this year; in the Spring Festival return destination air booking rankings, Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Sanya, Chongqing, Nanjing and Haikou ranked in the top ten.

According to the air ticket return data, from February 4 to February 8, the top 10 cities with popular departure places were Sanya, Beijing, Haikou, Shanghai, Chengdu, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Shenyang, Harbin and Changchun. Among them, Hainan and Northeast China became the most popular destinations for "one cold and one hot" during the Spring Festival. During the Spring Festival, the number of hotel and scenic ticket bookings in Hainan and the three northeastern provinces achieved double-digit growth year-on-year. Among them, hotels and scenic spots in Jilin Province performed the strongest. According to Ctrip platform data, as of February 5, hotel orders in Jilin Province increased by 153% year-on-year, of which local hotel orders increased by 93% year-on-year. Scenic spot ticket bookings increased by 98% year-on-year, and night tour scenic spot ticket bookings increased by 85% year-on-year.

The Spring Festival of the Year of the Tiger coincides with the successful holding of the Beijing Winter Olympics, ice skating and skiing during the day, and staying in hotels at night to soak in hot springs, which has become a major popular tourist consumption during this year's Spring Festival. As of February 5, the number of ski-themed hotel bookings during the Spring Festival increased by 54% year-on-year, and the number of ticket orders for ice and snow and ski scenic spots increased by nearly 40% year-on-year. Under the background of "local New Year", special hotels such as e-sports, script killing, and audio-visual have further enriched the accommodation experience of tourists, and the number of e-sports room orders during the Spring Festival has increased by more than 80% year-on-year.

The Spring Festival Golden Week also provides the most comfortable "walking time" of the year for parent-child families. Ctrip ticket data shows that parent-child orders accounted for nearly 40% of this year's Spring Festival, and parent-child families spent 31% more on scenic spots than non-parent-child orders. Among them, the post-80s love to "walk the baby" during the New Year, and the order for the post-80s baby is 6 times that of the post-90s baby, and the cost of the post-80s baby to visit the scenic spot is 10% more than that of the post-90s.

The report also shows that the hotel user base is also changing during the Spring Festival. During the Spring Festival, the main consumer group is concentrated in users aged 20 to 40. As the consumption level and stage are deferred and sunk in more areas, the small-town youth who return to their hometowns for the festival are becoming more and more receptive to staying in hotels during the Spring Festival. According to Ctrip data, as of February 5, during the Spring Festival, the proportion of accommodation customers from third-tier, fourth- and fifth-tier cities increased by 13% year-on-year, and 34% over 2019. Order volume increased by 30% year-on-year.

Fang Zexi, an industry analyst at Ctrip Research Institute, said that this year's Spring Festival short-distance local travel trend is obvious, and the country's major scenic spots, urban bustling business districts, historical and cultural blocks and other bustling crowds are crowded with new year people. The report shows that more than 80% of tourists choose to visit local scenic spots during the Spring Festival of the Year of the Tiger, and scenic spot tickets in this province account for up to 82%. Among them, tourists from Beijing, Shanghai, Wuxi, Chongqing, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Suzhou, Xi'an, Kaifeng and Nanjing love to visit scenic spots at their doorstep.
