12 intangible cultural heritage projects in our city were unveiled in the Winter Olympic Village

Recently, the "Cultural China" exhibition activity with Hebei Intangible Cultural Heritage as the main display was held in Zhangjiakou Winter Olympic Village (Winter Paralympic Village). The city's 12 intangible cultural heritage projects appeared at the exhibition.

The event was organized by the Cultural Activities Department of the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee, the Department of Culture and Tourism of Hebei Province, and the Hebei Provincial Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center participated in the implementation, and nearly 100 works of more than 30 intangible cultural heritage projects in Hebei were exhibited. Among them, there are 12 intangible cultural heritage projects in our city, including filigree inlay, straw carving, Gu'an willow weaving, cloisonné, Bazhou Shangjiasheng, nuclear carving, and opera face.

The venue is located in the Sunken Square of Zhangjiakou Winter Olympic Village, and the exhibition hall is mainly visually oriented to the Zhangjiakou Landmark Dajing Gate, which is divided into multiple sections according to the display content, including cultural corridors, traditional houses, traditional theater stages and Winter Olympic stories.

The Cultural Corridor is mainly based on the display of Hebei fine intangible cultural heritage handicrafts, and exquisite works such as Ding porcelain, Yi Shui Yan, cloisonné, filigree inlay, Hengshui Inner Painting, Cizhou Kiln, Carving Lacquer, Paddock Manchu Embroidery and other ingenious works are exhibited in the windows of the Long Corridor. The traditional residential area recreates the traditional scenes of home life, showing traditional art works and household objects such as Fengning cloth paste paintings, Tangshan shadow puppet carvings, Quyang clay sculptures, Yongqing nuclear sculptures, guan pottery grain paintings, Anxin reed paintings, and Gu'an willow weaving.

The exhibition hall set up a stage for looping traditional cultural videos, next to which traditional performance props such as Dingxing drama helmets, Gu'an drama masks, Zhengding Changshan war drums, Bazhou Gaoqiao Shangjiasheng, Baoding Taocheng and other traditional performance props were displayed, combining movement and static, echoing the video content. The Winter Olympics story section focuses on the appreciation of cultural connotations such as Winter Olympic medals and torches.

In the middle of the exhibition hall, the large-scale straw carving "Fuxing Building" with a height of 158 cm is amazing. This work was completed by Xu Yanfeng, the representative inheritor of the city's national intangible cultural heritage, led by his children to complete in 1400 days, and the design inspiration comes from the "Chinese Dream of Realizing the Great Rejuvenation of the Chinese Nation in the New Era", using 500,000 sorghum straws, 7 floors high, and 56 architectural cornices, symbolizing national unity and the rejuvenation of the motherland.

It is reported that the "Cultural China" display activities were held simultaneously in the three Winter Olympic Villages (Winter Paralympic Villages) in Beijing, Yanqing and Zhangjiakou. The three places display both related and distinctive, through different perspectives to show the traditional Chinese culture, so that athletes, media and work teams from all over the world can appreciate the customs and customs of Hebei during the Winter Olympics and Paralympic Games, and feel the unique charm of Chinese culture.
