The torch relay in Zhangjiakou Division began at the Nihewan Archaeological Site Park in Yangyuan County. At about 10:50 a.m., in the ancient ape head sculpture square of the Nihewan Archaeological Site Park in Yangyuan County, the tinder guard took a fire from the tinder lamp and lit the torch.

The first torchbearer in Zhangjiakou was the Olympic champion Wang Han, who said excitedly: "As a Hebei native, it is a great honor to participate in the Winter Olympic torch relay in my hometown. Since it is now the Spring Festival, the torch relay site is full of festive atmosphere, and the folk cottage next to the visitor service center is full of special handicrafts and agricultural products, showing the unique charm of Zhangjiakou's regional culture.
