Beijing, September 16 (China News Service) -- Meng Wei, spokesman for China's National Development and Reform Commission, revealed on the 16th that as of now, the China-Europe express train has laid 73 operating lines, reaching 174 cities in 23 European countries, and the logistics distribution network covers the entire territory of Eurasia.
Meng Wei said this at a press conference held by the National Development and Reform Commission on the same day. She said that in the face of the severe impact of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, China-Europe express trains have given full play to the unique advantages of international railway intermodal transport, vigorously undertake the transfer of goods by sea and air, and continue to play a key role in stabilizing the international supply chain industrial chain and helping international anti-epidemic cooperation.
First, the number of monthly openings remained at a historically high. In August, 1,323 China-Europe express trains ran, exceeding 1,300 trains for the fourth consecutive month, transporting 128,000 TEUs, an increase of 9% and 16% year-on-year, respectively, and a comprehensive heavy container rate of 98.4%. Since the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, China-Europe express trains have maintained more than 1,000 trains for 16 consecutive months, which fully demonstrates the "resilience" of this supply chain.
Second, the annual number of rows exceeded 10,000 ahead of schedule. From January to August, a total of 10,052 China-Europe express trains were operated, exceeding 10,000 trains two months earlier than last year, transporting 967,000 TEUs, an increase of 32% and 40% respectively year-on-year, and a comprehensive heavy container rate of 97.9%. In the case of continuous tension in the international supply chain, the China-Europe express train has maintained safe and stable operation, which has solved the "urgent need" of many enterprises.
Third, the "circle of friends" of win-win cooperation is getting bigger and bigger.
Meng Wei pointed out that in the next step, the National Development and Reform Commission will strengthen overall coordination, focus on the theme of high-quality development, focus on the main line of "consolidating stability and upgrading", and make every effort to promote the safe and stable operation of China-Europe express trains.
The first is to optimize and improve infrastructure support capabilities. In accordance with the principle of moderate advance, we will plan and build China-Europe express train hub facilities from a high starting point, promote the transformation and upgrading of important ports and passages, strengthen the innovative application of new technologies and new equipment, and improve the effective supply capacity of facilities.
The second is to continuously improve the quality of operation. Continue to optimize the transportation organization, continuously improve the plan of the bank, steadily improve the efficiency of customs clearance, do a good job in the assessment and evaluation of the quality of the China-Europe express train, and further enhance brand awareness and influence.
The third is to continuously promote innovation and development. Accelerate the construction of China-Europe express train information platforms and smart ports, innovate organizational models and service products, promote "integration of transport and trade", strengthen economic and trade cooperation with countries along the route, and enhance the ability to control the whole process of supply chain.
The fourth is to focus on strengthening risk prevention and control. Further improve the ability of epidemic prevention and control and emergency response, strengthen safety risk assessment, monitoring and early warning, improve security measures, and provide a strong guarantee for the safe and stable operation of China-Europe express trains.
