The prince and princess have lived happily ever since... Whenever I read the story and see this time, the author always wants to ask more: What about later? The two of them quarreled no, the cold war no, the prince played mahjong outside and didn't go home The princess was angry isn't it?
Sometimes watching movies is the same, always intentional and unfinished feeling, always want to know the final ending of the protagonists of the story, especially those that have a story prototype.
I have previously written a retrospective of the movie "Big Waves and Sands", because the characters in this movie have real archetypes in history, and the film only shoots them to participate in the Autumn Harvest Uprising, so we can't know their ultimate fate, so we are curious.
Fortunately, the film is adapted from Zhu Daonan's reminiscence article "In the Torrent of the Great Revolution", we can start from this book and combine historical data, and then we can know the ending of the four brothers and several other character archetypes in "The Great Waves and Sands".
1. Zhao Jinzhang
Teacher Zhao is actually a character formed by a combination of two historical figures, Tian Muhan, a progressive student of the First Normal School in Shandong, and Zhao Roujian, a branch leader of the Changsha Branch of the Central Military and Political School. Both of them were in their twenties, not as old as Teacher Zhao.
Tian Muhan did not go to Wuhan, and the information after that cannot be found at present. Zhao Roujian was assassinated and killed on the night of the Ma Ri Incident by Yu Wuyi, a rightist Kuomintang member from the same school. Also dying with him that night was Yang Ruifu, the prototype of Instructor Li who led the students out of the siege in the movie.
2. Song Zhuping
Teacher Zhao's lover in the film is based on Zhao Roujian's lover Chen Guizhu. She was a member of the girls' team of the Wuhan Branch of the Central Military and Political School and participated in the battle against Xia Douyin's Yang Sen rebels. Later, she went to Guangzhou with the military academy and was incorporated into the Officers' Teaching Corps of the Second Front, where she participated in the Guangzhou Uprising, where she handed over the written suicide note to her comrade-in-arms Liu Hui.
During the rebel army's attack on Zhang Fakui's army, Chen Guizhu was shot in the abdomen by enemy machine guns, and when she died, she gave the rubber duck toys she bought for her five-year-old brother in her hometown to her comrade-in-arms Zhu Daonan.
3. Liu Fen and Xie Hui
According to the specific deeds in the film, Liu Fen's main prototype is Liu Hui, and Xie Hui's prototype is also partly from the female warrior Liu Mu who was not filmed in the film.
Liu Hui joined the revolution at the age of 16, was sent to Wuhan at the age of 18, was rejected due to her young age when she was admitted to the military academy, she was finally admitted to the military academy and was incorporated into the girls' team and participated in the battle against xia Douyin's rebels with the army, and then went to Guangzhou with the team.
On the eve of the Guangzhou Uprising in 1927, comrades-in-arms left each other suicide notes and correspondence addresses, Chen Guizhu's suicide note was given to Liu Hui, and Liu Hui gave the suicide note and correspondence address to Zhu Daonan.
During the Guangzhou Uprising, Liu Hui and her comrades in the girls' class of the teaching regiment held the barricades, and because they lost contact with the command headquarters and did not receive the order to retreat, she and her comrades fought in the siege until the last moment.
When Zhu Daonan and Gong Jinshou came down from Guanyin Mountain and found Liu Hui's body, she still had grenade strings hanging from her hands and five or six enemy corpses lying around her, inferring that she had pulled the grenade when the enemy wanted to capture Liu Hui alive, and Liu Hui was only 18 years old when he died.
4. Yu Hongkui
The prototype consisted of two people, the landlord's son Sun Zhibin and the Kuomintang rightist Yu Wuyi. Sun Zhibin was originally an opportunist, only because his whole family was killed by bandits and had no way out, he followed Zhu Daonan and them to Jinan, and when the organization sent him to the Wuhan Examination Military Academy, he met his uncle who was doing business on the street and immediately followed his uncle away.
Yu Wuyi, a student of the Changsha Branch of the Central Military and Political School and belonging to the right wing of the Kuomintang, assassinated Zhao Roujian on the night of the Ma Ri Incident, and was subsequently caught and stabbed to death with a bayonet by Zhu Daonangong Jinshou Xie Humblemin and others.
Fifth, Yang Rukuan
The prototype is Yang Ronglin, who was a high-achieving student in the school when he was in his hometown of Zaozhuang, Shandong, and he was not tall and clever, and it was he who proposed to go to Jinan to apply for a normal school when Zhu Daonan was threatened by bandits. After they were organized and sent to Wuhan, due to the failure of the first application for military schools, Yang Ronglin's self-esteem was damaged and he decided to join the Propaganda Team of the Northern Expedition.
After the Ma-Ri Incident, Yang Ronglin returned from the front line and changed his name to "Yang's", re-entered the Wuhan branch of the Central Military and Political School, and was subsequently assigned to the officers' teaching group to participate in the Guangzhou Uprising. After the failure of the uprising, he rushed with his troops to the Hailufeng base area, and was wounded in order to cover for Zhu Daonan when attacking a landlord Tuweizi. After recovering from his wounds, he returned to the army and was promoted to platoon leader. He was killed in a battle in the Dawen area of Lufeng County in the spring of 1928.
On November 15, 2020, the Yang Ronglin Martyrs Monument was built in his hometown of Yanglou Village, Sister-in-law Mountain, Zaozhuang Yicheng District, Shandong Province, and General Li Jing, former deputy chief of general staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, wrote an inscription for it.
Sixth, Gu Daming
The prototype should be Xie Huomin and Zhu Daonan, the author of "In the Torrent of the Great Revolution", whose main deeds are still mainly Based on Zhu Daonan. In the film, everyone calls Gu Daming "Old Brother", and in history, Zhu Daonan was called "Old Brother Dao" by his comrades-in-arms.
Zhu Daonan, Xie Huomin, and Yang Ronglin were the best friends, and they went to Jinan together to Wuhan, and Zhu Daonan and Xie Huomin were admitted to the Central Military and Political School together, killed from the Ma-Ri Incident together, and participated in the Guangzhou Uprising together. On the way back after the failure of the Guangzhou uprising, Xie Huomin saved Zhu Daonan's life, and then the two joined the Tenth Regiment of the Red Fourth Division together, Xie Humblemin first served as a platoon leader and then as a company party representative, and then they fought together in Hailufeng, and then the information on him could not be found in the future.
Zhu Daonan was met with death threats twice in the battle of Hailufeng, once when he was surrounded by vigilantes when he was injured and hospitalized, and the other wounded were all buried in the fire, and he and a hygienist escaped from the mountains like wild people for more than a month. After that, Zhu Daonan and the hygienist were caught by the vigilante group in Shanghu Town, the hygienist was killed, and Zhu Daonan was thrown into prison.
In 1929, Zhu Daonan was rescued from prison, and then he returned to his hometown of Zaozhuang, Shandong Province, after several twists and turns, because the news of his participation in the revolution and participation in the Guangzhou uprising had spread back to his hometown, so he was famous in the local area, first as a teacher in a primary school and then hired as a county inspector.
Zhu Daonan used his public identity to redevelop the revolutionary forces in his hometown, and after the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, he launched a rebellion to establish a volunteer army and ambushed the Japanese army in the Battle of Taierzhuang. After the 115th Division of the Eighth Route Army entered the Zaozhuang Baoligu Mountains, Zhu Daonan established the Canal Detachment of the 115th Division under the leadership of Luo Ronghuan, which became the local anti-Japanese armed force in Zaozhuang with the same name as the railway guerrillas.
After liberation, Zhu Daonan was transferred to Shanghai, where he successively served as deputy director of the General Office of the East China Military and Political Committee, and with the assistance of his secretary Liu Bingkun, he wrote books such as "In the Torrent of the Great Revolution" and "Recalling the Guangzhou Uprising." In 1978, the Organization Department of the Central Committee approved him to be a deputy provincial administrative level, and in 1984 Zhu Daonan was dismissed according to the "treatment of Shanghai vice mayor level". He died in 1985 at the age of 83.
7. Jin Gongshou
He is the protagonist of the movie "Great Waves and Sands", based on Gong Jinshou from Qufu, Shandong, who met the three brothers Zhu Daonan, Xie Huomin and Yang Ronglin in Jinan, and rushed to the Wuhan Examination Military Academy together to experience the Ma-Ri Incident and the Guangzhou Uprising together in Changsha.
During the Guangzhou Uprising, Gong Jinshou and Zhu Daonan stood shoulder to shoulder to block the enemy at the Guanyin Mountain position, and xu Xiangqian was still in the same position as them. During the battle, due to the damage of the mortar foot, Gong Jinshou held the mortar and used his body as a gun mount to repel the enemy attack by Zhu Daonan.
After the failure of the Guangzhou Uprising, the troops withdrew to Hua County, and Gong Jinshou and Zhu Daonan Xie Humblemin were incorporated into the Tenth Regiment of the Red Fourth Division, and the commander of the regiment at that time was Xu Xiangqian. During the attack on the county seat of Huilai, in order to cover Zhu Daonan Xie Humblemin and others who climbed the city, Gong Jinshou took the initiative to attract enemy fire and was seriously wounded by bullets, and later died in the hospital due to his injuries.
Gong Jinshou is a black-faced man, and as in the movie, he blushed when he saw the girl, but because of his honesty and bravery, he was favored by a female comrade-in-arms, Liu Mu, and the two gradually became acquainted and gradually came together in the struggle, and Gong Jinshou was unfortunately sacrificed when the two were ready to get married.
8. Others
In the film, Jin Gongshou killed the landlord and was wanted before fleeing to Jinan, and in history, it was Zhu Daonan who beat up the bully landlord's son Huang Qitang and fled under threat of bandits. This Huang Yitang was later admitted to the fifth term of the Whampoa Military Academy, left the school on the eve of the Guangzhou Uprising and returned to Shandong, and later joined the Revival Society, the predecessor of the military command.
When Huang Was a Trainer at Jinan Zhengyi Middle School, he developed many peripheral members of the Revival Society, including a man named Zhang Chunqiao. On the eve of liberation, Huang fled to Taiwan Province.
Among liu hui and Chen Guizhu's comrades-in-arms in the girls' team of the Central Military and Political School were Zhao Yiman, Huang Jie (Mrs. Xu Xiangqian), Zhang Ruihua (Nie Rongzhen's wife), and Wei Gongzhi, who was once Mrs. Ye Shuai, and she had a niece named Yang Jie, who was the director of "Journey to the West".
Liu Hui they had a fellow villager and classmate named Zang Kejia at the Wuhan Central Military and Political School, and they participated in the battle against Xia Douyin together, and after the July 15 Incident, Zang Kejia returned to his hometown and was admitted to Shandong University as a student of Wen Yiduo.
Zhu Daonan, Xie Huomin, and Gong Jinshou all experienced the Ma-Ri Incident first-hand, and on the night of the incident, they fought together with their comrades-in-arms against the attacks of the right-wing Students of the Kuomintang in the school, and there was a person in the opposite crowd named Liao Yaoxiang.
Liao Yaoxiang's resume says that he graduated from the Huangpu Sixth Term, which is fine, because the Changsha Branch and the Wuhan Branch of the Kuomintang Central Military and Political School are equivalent to the Huangpu Sixth Term, so Zhu Daonan, Xie Humblemin, Yang Ronglin, Gong Jinshou, and Liu Hui are all students of the Huangpu Sixth Term.
Conclusion: Some readers may want to ask, Zhu Daonan is a deputy provincial cadre, so if Gong Jinshou, Liu Hui, and Yang Ronglin all live to be how big an official they can be after liberation? In fact, when you have read Zhu Daonan's original work "In the Torrent of the Great Revolution" and understand that period of history, you will know that like Zhu Daonan, who was a founding hero, in fact, he can also be said to be a survivor, and there are too many outstanding young people who sacrificed themselves in the torrent of revolution.
There is an inscription in the Monument to the People's Heroes that reads: Over the past thirty years, the people's heroes who have sacrificed their lives in the People's Liberation War and the People's Revolution will never die! This includes gong jin shou them.
