Li Yebing, born in 1931, is a native of Shimen Village, Jingxing County, Hebei Province (Shimen Village was originally part of Pingding County, Shanxi Province, and was assigned to Jingxing County, Hebei Province in January 1956). In August 1945, he participated in revolutionary work in the Taihang Mountain Anti-Japanese Base Area and enjoyed medical treatment at the level of deputy provincial (ministerial) director.
In the 1940s, he participated in the art work of the Liberated Areas during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. He has served as a civil education librarian, government cadre, teacher, and member of the field propaganda team, and has been engaged in art creation for more than 70 years. In his youth, he had the honor of studying and creating at the Museum of the Chinese Revolution under the teachings of masters such as Luo Gongliu, Dong Xiwen, Shi Lu, Cheng Shifa, and Guan Shanyue. Oil painting, printmaking, New Year painting, arts and crafts, stage art and other artistic fields have been studied and practiced in depth. Over the past few decades, he has traveled all over the motherland, collecting materials from life and sketching tens of thousands of works. Immediately, he systematically visited more than 120 key cities in more than 40 countries on five continents to conduct art investigations, and created more than 200 works of exotic scenery, which absorbed the advantages of foreign art on the basis of inheriting tradition and enriched his painting language.
