According to previous reports, the Lone Ranger offered Brunson a four-year, $56 million renewal contract, but Brunson wanted a new contract with an annual salary of $18 million.

According to Tim MacMahon, he has been told that the Lone Ranger will not send Brunson away before the trade deadline, and Brunson himself prefers to stay with the Lone Ranger, but he will not back down on the renewal.
