The Telegraph: Newcastle is close to signing Lance striker Equitic with a transfer fee of £15 million + floating clause

The Daily Telegraph reported that Newcastle are expected to bring in Reims young striker Equitic on closing day.

Newcastle was interested in bringing in Equitic earlier this month, but Lance asked too much, with news that it even reached £33 million, and with the closing day approaching, Newcastle is ready to step up to complete the deal.

Newcastle is expected to introduce Equitic for around £15m before closing the window, and the potential deal will also include some floating terms. Equitic is known in France as the "Little Mbappe".

This season, the 19-year-old Ekitic made 17 appearances for Reims, scoring eight goals.

In addition, Newcastle will not try to bring in Arsenal striker Nketiah again today.
