On January 29th, the academic inspection team of the Overseas Chinese Historical Society of Jiangmen City walked into Gujing Town, the hometown of overseas Chinese. The academic expedition group is composed of huang baijun, Dong Xiaorong, Deng Zhigang, He Zhiqiang, Ou Xiaojian, He Yanfang, Huang Jianquan, Hu Zhentang, Peng Weizong and other overseas Chinese historians. Under the leadership of Huang Baijun, vice president and secretary general of the Jiangmen Overseas Chinese Historical Society, overseas Chinese historians have successively made on-the-spot visits to representative landscapes such as Xialu Village, xialu Village, the ancient battlefield of the Songyuan Yamen Naval Battle, and the Yamen Fort, and made on-the-spot visits to Gujing Town's next step of collecting, sorting out, and displaying overseas Chinese culture with local characteristics, and building a town with overseas Chinese cultural characteristics.

At the first stop, the academic inspection team of the Jiangmen Overseas Chinese Historical Society came to Xialu Village in Gujing Town. Overseas Chinese historians have successively inspected the Zhao Gong Ancestral Hall, a relative of the Song Dynasty, the former site of xialu primary school of the overseas Chinese donation school, the former residence of Mr. Zhao Shibei, the pioneer of China's modern democratic revolution, the Xianglin Park, a public welfare park for overseas Chinese donations, and the Tiancheng Wei Roast Goose Street. During the inspection, overseas Chinese historians were deeply attracted by the colorful, profound and distinctive overseas Chinese cultural sites and overseas Chinese donation buildings in Xialu Village. Everyone understands that the current local population of Xialu Village is more than 4,000 people, and there are more than 6,000 overseas Chinese, so it can be said that there is a Xialu Village in china and abroad. Overseas Chinese historians have said that Xialu Village has a long history, outstanding people, and the story of a century-old overseas Chinese history is deeply moving, and I believe that in the future, Xialu Village will play a new role, show new responsibilities and achieve new deeds in the revitalization of Gujing Town and Rural Revitalization.
Next, the inspection team visited the ancient battlefield of the Song and Yuan Yamen Naval Battles, the Yamen Fort and other representative landscapes. Overseas Chinese historians say that the Battle of Yamen in 1279 was a process of large-scale migration of Song remnants overseas, and also the beginning of the history of overseas Chinese in Xinhui. When paying attention to the contacts and exchanges between Jiangmen Wuyi and overseas, in addition to focusing on China's modern century-old history, we should also focus on overseas trade exchanges since the Tang and Song dynasties, the Maritime Silk Road, and the Battle of Yamen in the Song and Yuan Dynasties. In fact, the history of overseas exchanges in the past thousand years has left a deep trace in Xinhui Gujing, which is a rare and precious cultural treasure of overseas Chinese, which deserves to be seriously summarized and protected.
After the on-the-spot inspection, the academic inspection group of the Jiangmen Overseas Chinese Historical Society held a forum on the construction of overseas Chinese culture, and Chen Siliang, deputy secretary of the party committee of Gujing Town, Chen Guoyuan, member of the town party committee, and Liang Yingyu, deputy mayor of the town, attended the meeting. At the meeting, the overseas Chinese historians of the academic inspection group of the Jiangmen Overseas Chinese Historical Society have carried out the "pulse support" for Gujing Town's overseas Chinese cultural construction, rural revitalization, and rural tourism. Overseas Chinese historians proposed that it is necessary to deeply promote the project of "empowering overseas Chinese", pay full attention to the construction of overseas Chinese culture, pay attention to overall planning, and strengthen top-level design. It is necessary to gather industry professionals by establishing a consultant talent pool. It is necessary to follow the principle of protective development, give full play to the role of the market, vigorously develop cultural and creative products with the characteristics of ancient wells, actively carry out the work of united front and friendship with family name culture and clan feelings, strengthen the support and funding of overseas Chinese periodicals and hometown news, and strive to vividly tell the stories of overseas Chinese and ancient wells. The town leaders carefully listened to the opinions and suggestions of overseas Chinese history experts, and exchanged in-depth exchanges on the future development plan of Gujing, saying that they would fully implement the "Overseas Chinese Empowerment" project, focusing on relying on overseas Chinese cultural carriers such as Xialu Village and Tiancheng Wei Roast Goose Street, revitalizing overseas Chinese cultural resources, and creating an exhibition hall of ancient Wells and Overseas Chinese Culture with local characteristics; and taking multiple measures at the same time to build the ancient wells of overseas Chinese into a famous overseas Chinese cultural town in Wuyi, Jiangmen and even the Pearl River Delta region, with overseas Chinese as a bridge, overseas Chinese as pride, and overseas Chinese as the highlight.
