According to Italian journalist Skira, Newcastle has negotiated personal terms with Dan Byrne and is currently negotiating with Brighton.
According to previous media reports, Newcastle was interested in bringing in Brighton centre-back Dan Byrne in the winter window, but both offers of £7m and £10m were rejected by Brighton. Skira pointed out that there is new progress in the transfer, Newcastle has negotiated a contract with the players for the duration of 2024, while negotiations with Brighton are still ongoing.
Dan Byrne' contract with Brighton expires in 2023 and has played 16 games so far this season, scoring one goal and playing 1277 minutes.
