Luxury down jacket brand Moncler suffered a cyber attack and some personal data was leaked

Beijing Business News (reporter He Qian) On January 29, a reporter from Beijing Business Daily learned from the official website of the Italian luxury down jacket brand Moncler that Moncler recently issued a "Privacy Notice" showing that the company has recently suffered an extremely sophisticated network attack, and some personal and business data has been outflowed. This may include personal data of users in the possession of the Company, so there may be a risk of identity theft and fraud attempts by the User, but there is no data breach related to payment methods and tools (such as iban, credit cards, ID cards, passports, etc.). The incident has been promptly reported to the police and the Italian data protection authorities.

Moncler stressed that in order to minimize the possibility of identity theft and fraud attempts, users are advised to be vigilant about communications from third parties that seem to know certain information about the user, and not to use authentication information that can be easily identified or inferred from the user's data, such as IDs, passwords, etc.

Moncler also said that as soon as the company discovers such unauthorized access, it has put in place appropriate security measures aimed at minimizing its impact, determining how it happened, and taking immediate corrective action to better protect everyone's interests, while leveraging industry experts for collaboration.
