Google pioneered a shortcut to delete last 15 minutes of search history on iOS

According to foreign media reports, in order to supplement the existing search history automatic deletion control, Google announced a way in I/O 2021 - it will be able to quickly delete users' last 15 minute queries on Android and iOS apps. This shortcut is being rolled out at the latter platform. In the mobile app, clicking on your profile picture will see a new "Delete last 15 min" button under "Search History".

On iOS, Google already offers incognito mode, but this may provide a smoother experience. It's similar to the "Hey Google, delete everything I said to you last week" or "Hey Google, that wasn't for you" command on Assistant.

It also automatically deletes search history (Web & App Activity) every 3, 18, or 36 months, with increments in between being the default for the current new account. Google says the shortcut is now available on iOS, and Android won't be available until this year.

Google also officially announced today that users can lock the My Activity page with additional login verification, so that other users who share the device do not have much freedom over the user's personal information.
