The review meeting was presided over by Deng Xi, head of the chenzhou neonatal death review team, Liu Lisha, deputy leader of the chenzhou neonatal death review team and deputy head of the gynecology and child department of the Municipal Health Commission, and Lu Dongsheng, vice president of the Municipal Maternal and Child Health Hospital, attended the review meeting.

The meeting adopted the natural annual statistical method model, and selected three typical deaths from the neonatal deaths in Chenzhou in the second half of 2021 for the analysis and evaluation of the causes of death one by one. A total of 9 experts from the obstetrics, neonatology and child health departments of various medical institutions in the city gave full play to the advantages of experts, systematically reviewed and analyzed from prenatal, feeding and nursing links, and clarified the cause of death and diagnosis.

Liu Lisha fully affirmed a series of measures taken by various medical institutions in the process of neonatal treatment, and pointed out that in view of the problems found in the review, it is necessary to conscientiously learn lessons and lessons, learn from each other and continue to improve, focusing on strengthening the management of high-risk pregnancies and high-risk newborns.

In view of the problems in the diagnosis and treatment of pregnancy and childbirth and neonatal period, Deng Xi put forward suggestions for improvement: First, it is necessary to strengthen the health management and health education work during pregnancy, improve the health literacy of family members, and move the risk prevention and control threshold forward; second, it is necessary to strengthen the training of newborn resuscitation technology and first aid drills, closely combine theoretical learning with practical operations, and make the training results fully applied to the clinical rescue of newborns; the third is to strengthen the close coordination and cooperation between obstetrics and neonatology, establish a normalized coordination mechanism, and smooth the channel for newborn treatment. All institutions should systematically analyze the factors affecting neonatal death through the evaluation of neonatal deaths, grasp and improve the quality of work in many aspects, effectively reduce neonatal mortality, and ensure the safety of mothers and babies in their jurisdictions.
