This year's No. 18 typhoon "Compass" strengthened from tropical storm level to severe tropical storm level yesterday night. At 5 o'clock this morning, the center of the "compass" was located in the northeast of the South China Sea about 960 kilometers east of Wanning, Hainan, with a maximum wind force of 10 near the center. It is expected that the "compass" will make landfall tomorrow (October 13) afternoon to evening along the coast from Wenchang to Sanya in Hainan.
